Tandem

Zu zweit ist man weniger alleine. Berlin | DE; Wien | AT · 2010–2020 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Ich bin noch nie mit einem Tandem gefahren und hab auch kein gesteigertes Bedürfnis danach – ich will soweit möglich selber lenken und entscheiden, wo ich hinfahre. Das Foto allerdings mit den beiden als Polizisten verkleideten Männern mit den aufgeklebten Schnurrbärten, die einen als Sträfling gekleideten Buben mitführen – das hat mich heute mehrfach zum Lachen gebracht. Das Tandem unten, an eine Litfaß-Säule gelehnt, hat mir beim Vorbeiradeln so gefallen, dass ich angehalten und den daneben stehenden Mann gefragt habe, ob ichs fotografieren darf. Er erzählte mir dann, er hätte sich das Tandem ausgeborgt und warte nun auf eine Freundin bei der U-Bahnstation. Der Rahmen sei aus den 1930-er Jahren, Bereifung etc. neu bzw. erneuert.

The photo, however, with the two men disguised as police officers with glued-on mustaches who are carrying a boy dressed as a convict – that made me laugh several times today. I liked the tandem below, leaning against an advertising pillar, so much as I cycled past that I stopped and asked the man standing next to it if I could take a picture. He then told me that he had borrowed the tandem and was now waiting for a friend at the subway station. The frame is from the 1930s, tires etc. are new or renewed.
