Ein drängendes Bedürfnis verspüren. Amsterdam | NL; Berlin | DE; San Jerónimo | NI; Wien | AT · 1986–2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) „Öffentliche Bedürfnisanstalten“ sind für jeden/jede, die entsprechendes Drängen verspüren, eine „Erlösung“ – und je nach Ausstattung ein Luxus. Pissoirs gibt es aber nur für Männer und keine vergleichbaren Einrichtungen für Frauen – als ob Frauen nicht die gleichen diesbezüglichen Bedürfnisse verspüren würden.

Das elegante, gebogen/geschwungene Pissoir (gr. Foto links) vor dem Amsterdamer Zoo Artis ist in meinen Augen eine Skulptur im öffentlichen Raum. Die Latrinenwürfel aus Beton (unten Mitte und rechts) waren der Stand der Dinge in der „Cooperativa Heroes y Martires de Canta Gallo“ in San Jerónimo, Nicaragua, in der ich im Jahr 1986 mit einer österreichischen Solidaritätsbrigade einige Wochen gearbeitet habe. Das Kinderhaus, das damals begonnen wurde, wurde fertig gebaut und steht meines Wissens immer noch.

Amsterdam | NL; Berlin | DE; San Jerónimo | NI; Vienna | AT · 1986-2019 (© PP · Eternal Archives) “Public institutions of need” are a “redemption” for anyone who feels the urge to do so – and, depending on the equipment, a luxury. Urinals exist only for men and no comparable facilities for women – as if women did not feel the same needs.
The elegant, curved / curved urinal (large photo left) in front of the Amsterdam Zoo Artis is in my eyes a sculpture in public space. The latrine cubes made of concrete (bottom center and right) were the state of affairs in the “Cooperativa Heroes and Martires de Canta Gallo” in San Jerónimo, Nicaragua, where I worked in 1986 with an Austrian Solidarity Brigade for several weeks. The children’s house, which was started at that time, was built and is still to my knowledge.
