Peter Putz erzählt über die Produktionsbedingungen seiner frühen Animationsfilme in Polen (1977/78), seine Arbeit als artist in residence in Montréal, wie er einen Animationsfilm mit Jean-Marie LePen von der rechtsextremen Front National in Paris gedreht hat (1991), über seine Arbeit im Digitalstudio des ORF in Wien, wo er einige Jahre ua. Signations für das Kinderprogramm produzierte (1991–1995).

Er präsentiert neben seinem allerersten Zeichentrickfilm „OBUWIE“ (2 min.), entstanden 1977 während eines Studienjahres in Polen und mehrfach preisgekrönt, auch „TV Montezuma“, eine Raserei durch die Welt der Animation (1987, 3.5 min.), sowie Ausschnitte aus „Mont Real“ (1988/89, 20 min.), produziert im Rahmen eines Aufenthaltes als artist in residence an der Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.

Seit 1980 arbeitet Peter Putz am Projekt Das Ewige Archiv, einer dyanmische Enzyklopädie zeitgenössischer Wirklichkeiten. Zahlreiche Ausstellungen und Präsentationen ua. im Wien Museum (2012), Kunsthalle Wien, MQ (2014), Maison Heinrich Heine, Paris (2015), Concordia University, Montréal (2015). Das Video „Das Ewige Archiv · ordnen und geordnet werden“ hatte 2019 im Blickle-Kino im BELVEDERE 21 Premiere. Ausstellung „Montezumas Rache“ im ASIFA Keil 2020.

Peter Putz produzierte zahlreiche Video-Dokumentationen, zwei seiner Filme wurden im Februar 2024 im Rahmen des Freien Kinos im Stadtkino im Künstlerhauskino gezeigt.

Peter Putz talks about the production conditions of his early animated films in Poland (1977/78), his work as artist in residence in Montréal, how he made an animated film with Jean-Marie LePen of the far-right Front National in Paris (1991), about his work in the digital studio of the ORF in Vienna, where he produced Signations for the children’s programme for several years (1991-1995).

In addition to his very first animated film “OBUWIE” (2 min.), made in 1977 during a year of study in Poland and winner of several awards, he also presents “TV Montezuma”, a frenzy through the world of animation (1987, 3.5 min.), as well as excerpts from “Mont Real” (1988/89, 20 min.), produced during a stay as artist in residence at Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.

Since 1980 Peter Putz has been working on the project The Eternal Archive, a dynamic encyclopaedia of contemporary realities. Numerous exhibitions and presentations, including at the Wien Museum (2012), Kunsthalle Wien, MQ (2014), Maison Heinrich Heine, Paris (2015), Concordia University, Montréal (2015). The video “Das Ewige Archiv – ordnen und geordnet werden” premiered at the Blickle cinema in BELVEDERE 21 in 2019. Exhibition “Montezuma’s Revenge” at ASIFA Keil 2020.

Peter Putz has produced numerous video documentaries, two of his films were shown in February 2024 as part of the Free Cinema at the Stadtkino in the Künstlerhauskino.
