Paris Kebab – eine liberal-bürgerliche Auswahl. Ein „reflektierter“ Archivar lässt tief blicken. Paris | AT · 2022 (© PP · # 2501 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ok – dann doch ein Tableau zu Street Art / Graffiti / Paste Ups? Warum net? Nicht, dass mich die Auswahl wirklich „in Bedrängnis“ gebracht hätte, aber ein bisschen nachdenken darf schon sein. Die Grundfrage jedes Tableaus: WAS nehme ich in die engere Wahl, und wie groß zeige ich es, wie ist die Anordnung zueinander, gibt es eine gewisse Schlüssigkeit? Eine Möglichkeit wäre, die staatlich finanzierten, vermutlich beauftragten Murals (gr. Foto re.) zu betonen, wie sie zB in der Nähe des Centre Pompidou zu sehen sind. Oder doch mehr „rough stuff“, wie am Stadtrand, in der Nähe der Peripherique, wie ich sie bei frühmorgendlichen Inspektionsgängen sah? (obere Reihe, 1. u. 2.) Ganz rechts oben jedenfalls ein überdimensionales „Mosaik“ von Spaceinvader, auch beim Centre Pompidou. Ganz rechts unten: Lüftungsanlage des Centre mit Ukraine-Herz und Paste Up-Augen. Die Assemblage (gr. Foto li.) fiel mir am ersten Morgen auf, auch in der Nähe des Centre und fand ich in gewissem Sinne recht charmant: Ein begonnener Graffiti-Schriftzug, Reste eines Paste-Ups, angehäufte, zerborstene Holzlatten und ein E-Scooter. Trash-Still life. Darunter noch zwei Szenen aus der Vorstadt und – „VIVE LA REVOLUTION – ARMÈE ROUGE POING NOIR (rote Armee, schwarze Faust).

So schaumma aus – und noch ganz ganz anders. Paris ist –zumindest in den innerstädtischen Bezirken – wesentlich weniger zugeschixxx. . ähh zugetaggt als Wien. Just sayin’ (Womit ich das revolutionäre Potential betont ungelenker „tags“ nur wenig schmälern möchte. ;-)

Not that the selection really “distressed” me, but it’s okay to think about it a bit. The basic question of every tableau: WHAT do I shortlist and how big do I show it, how is it arranged in relation to each other, is there a certain coherence? One possibility would be to emphasize the government-financed, presumably commissioned murals (large photo, right), as can be seen near the Center Pompidou, for example. Or is it more “rough stuff”, like on the outskirts, near the Peripherique, like I saw on early-morning inspection rounds? (top row, 1st and 2nd) In any case, at the top right, an oversized “mosaic” by Spaceinvader, also at the Center Pompidou. Bottom right: Center ventilation system with Ukraine heart and Paste Up eyes. The assemblage (gr. photo left) caught my eye on the first morning, also near the center and I found it quite charming in a certain sense: a started graffiti lettering, remains of a paste-up, piled up, shattered wooden slats and an E -Scooter. Trash still life. Including two scenes from the suburbs and – “VIVE LA REVOLUTION – ARMÈE ROUGE POING NOIR (red army, black fist).

So frothy – and still completely different. Paris is – at least in the inner-city districts – much less shitted arrrgh tagged as Vienna. Just sayin’ (By which I only want to diminish the revolutionary potential of emphatically awkward “tags”. 😉
