Wenn dann wirklich (fast) fünfzig Jahre vergangen sind! Poznan | PL; Wien | AT · 1977–2026 (© s. Text · © PP · # 3807 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Bei der Ausstellung „BILD FÜR BILD – ASIFA Austria VON 1985 BIS HEUTE“, die im Künstlerhaus am Do., 9. Juli 2026 um 19 Uhr eröffnet werden wird, bin ich sicher einer der ältesten Teilnehmer. Ich zeige eine russische 16 mm-Kamera „Krasnogorsk“ („Roter Berg“) und mehr als 650 Einzelzeichnungen meines allerersten – und wahrscheinlich besten – Animationsfilmes „OBUWIE“, den ich 1977, also vor fast 50 Jahren im Rahmen eines Auslandsstudienjahres an der Aakdemie für bildende Künste in Poznan/Polen gemacht habe. Der zweiminütige Film ist natürlich auch dort zu sehen. Ein Anlass, über meine vergangene Lebenszeit, die Veränderungen in mir und um mich herum nachzudenken (nein – ich beabsichtige nicht, an dieser Stelle eine SM-adäquate Lebensbeichte auf FB zu veröffentlichen). Nur soviel – zitiert nach einem VOLVO-Werbespot mit Jean-Claude van Damme, der mich immer wieder zum Lachen bringt: Zur sphärischen Musik von Enya, während er einen Spagat zwischen zwei rückwärts fahrenden VOLVO-Trucks ausführt, ist im OFF in etwa dieser Text zu hören: „I had my ups and downs, my fair share of heavy winds and bumpy roads . . .“ Passt sicher auch für mein Leben.

When (almost) fifty years have really passed! Poznań | PL; Vienna | AT · 1977–2026 (© see text · © PP · # 3807 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) At the exhibition ‘FRAME BY FRAME – ASIFA Austria FROM 1985 TO THE PRESENT’, which is set to open at the Künstlerhaus on Thursday, 9 July 2026 at 7 pm, I am certainly one of the oldest participants. I am exhibiting a Russian 16 mm ‘Krasnogorsk’ camera (“Red Mountain”) and more than 650 individual drawings from my very first – and probably best – animated film “OBUWIE”, which I made in 1977, almost 50 years ago, as part of a year’s study abroad at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland. The two-minute film will, of course, also be screened there. It’s an opportunity to reflect on my life so far, the changes within me and around me (no – I don’t intend to post an SM-style life confession on Facebook here). Just this much – quoted from a VOLVO advert featuring Jean-Claude van Damme, which never fails to make me laugh: Set to Enya’s ethereal music, whilst he performs the splits between two VOLVO lorries driving in reverse, the voice-over goes something like this: “I’ve had my ups and downs, my fair share of heavy winds and bumpy roads . . .” That certainly applies to my life too.
