Novara „The Beauty” vs. No-Name „The Beast“ in Berlin: Sinfonie der Großstadt. Berlin | DE · 2018 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Noch unter Einfluss der im Kulturforum Berlin gesehenen „Unboxing Photographs“ Ausstellung stromerte ich ein wenig ziellos im weitläufigen Gebäude herum, stieg Treppen hinab. Völlig unvermittelt und unvorbereitet stand ich plötzlich vor dem schönsten Verkaufs-Automaten meines Lebens! Novara von Azkoyen. Elegant, glänzendes Schwarz, schnörkellos, ligne claire, kurz: atemberaubend schön. Sofort Assoziationen an den Monolithen aus Stanley Kubricks „2001 – A Space Odyssey“ (2001 – Odyssee im Weltraum) und an Steve Jobs „NEXT“-Computer (der dann – zwar schön und klar, sich nicht durchsetzte). Auf der Rückfahrt mit der S-Bahn dann im Vorbeigehen (Station „Tiergarten“) auf dem Bahnsteig den Panzerschrank-artigen „Verkaufstresor – „The Brute“ erblickt. Polierter Edelstahl, Gitter vor den Präsentations-Fenstern, auch eine gewisse Ruhe und Sicherheit ausstrahlend – allerdings die Gefährdungen der „Sinfonie der Großstadt“ verdichtend.

Beide Male starke Erlebnisse!

Berlin | DE · 2018 (© PP · Eternal Archive) Still under the influence of the “Unboxing Photographs” exhibition seen at the Kulturforum Berlin, I wandered a bit aimlessly around the spacious building, descending stairs. Completely unmediated and unprepared, I suddenly stood in front of the most beautiful vending machine of my life! Novara from Azkoyen. Elegant, shiny black, no frills, ligne claire, in short: breathtakingly beautiful. Immediate associations with the monoliths of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001 – A Space Odyssey” and Steve Jobs’s “NEXT” computer (which, though beautiful and clear, did not prevail). On the return journey with the rapid-transit railway then in passing (station “Tiergarten”) on the platform the tanker-like “sales safe -” The Brute “sees. Polished stainless steel, grille in front of the presentation windows, radiating a certain calmness and security – but condensing the dangers of the “symphony of the big city”.
Both times strong experiences!
