„Tokyo Skytree“ in Wim Wenders Film „Perfect Days“

Der „Tokyo Skytree“ in Wim Wenders Film „Perfect Days“ und wie er sich dem Ewigen Archivar in „real life“ in Tokyo offenbarte. Ein Tableau im Rahmen der Adorations-Feierlichkeiten zu Wim Wenders 80. Geburtstag – ehrerbietig dargebracht. Tokyo | JP · 2023–2025 (Filmstills li.: © Perfect Days, Wim Wenders; Fotos re.: © PP · # 3552 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Die Hauptperson Hirayama, ein Toiletten-Reiniger, dargestellt von Koji Yakusho im eingangs erwähnten Spielfilm des deutschen Regisseurs, wohnt im Film in der Nähe des Tokyo Skytrees – eines Fernseh- und Rundfunkturmes, der immer wieder in Szenen zu sehen ist. Selbstverständlich habe ich mich vor meiner Dienstreise zur EXPO Osaka 2025 – ich hatte die Ehre und den Auftrag, für den Österreich Pavillon ein Video über vier Kärntner Künstler*innen zu produzieren (namentlich Cornelius Kolig, Maria Lassnig, Meina Schellander und Herwig Turk) – extensiv vorbereitet, darunter auch den Film eines der Lieblingsregisseure meiner Jugendzeit Frame für Frame studiert und exzerpiert. Voilà – hier eine penible Gegenüberstellung Film vs Reality (Was immer damit gemeint ist) Thank me later!

Tokyo | JP · 2023–2025 (Film stills left: © Perfect Days, Wim Wenders; photos right: © PP · # 3552 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) The main character Hirayama, a toilet cleaner, played by Koji Yakusho in the German director’s aforementioned feature film, lives near the Tokyo Skytree – a television and radio tower that appears repeatedly in scenes. Naturally, I prepared extensively before my business trip to EXPO Osaka 2025 – I had the honor and the assignment of producing a video about four Carinthian artists (namely Cornelius Kolig, Maria Lassnig, Meina Schellander, and Herwig Turk) for the Austrian Pavilion. This included studying and excerpting frame by frame from the film by one of my favorite directors from my youth. Voilà – here’s a meticulous comparison of film vs. reality (whatever that means).
