Neue Hydranten sind eingetroffen! Juhuuuu! Vorletzte Bastion der starren Phallokratie! Lengnau | CH; New York, Portland | US; Ottawa | CA; Wien | AT · 1988–2022 (Fotos © s. Text; Tableau © PP · # 2682 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Zu meiner großen Freude sind rechtzeitig vor Jahreswechsel (brand-)aktuelle Fotos exquisiter Hydranten eingetroffen und konnte dadurch die bereits exuberante Sammlung des entsprechenden Departments des Ewigen Archivs beträchtlich erweitert werden: Die Direktion dankt in aller Form Architektin Sonja Gasparin für die neuen Modelle aus der Schweiz (1. Reihe, 2. und 3. Foto) und Dr.in Mariella Meyer für die Exemplare aus Portland, Oregon (2. Reihe darunter). Das skriptorale Objekt (li.ob.) könnte bestenfalls vom leider verstorbenen Lawrence Weiner stammen, wurde vom Leiter des Archivs jedenfalls 2022 auf der Gumpendorferstraße in Wien fotografiert, der markante Hydrant mit Autoreifen im Jahr 1988 in der Bronx in New York. Hydranten gehören zu den Liebkindern des einsamen Sammlers, sie sind nicht nur ein Symbol der Nachhaltigkeit und Nützlichkeit, sondern auch Trostspender in Stunden, in welchen die Sinnhaftigkeit des Gesamtprojektes wieder einmal ponderiert wird.

Lengnau | CH; New York, Portland | US; Ottawa | CA; Vienna | AT 1988–2022 (Photos © see text; Tableau © PP # 2682 www.ewigesarchiv.at) To my great delight, (brand) up-to-date photos of exquisite hydrants arrived in good time before the turn of the year and were thus able to expand the already exuberant collection of the corresponding departments of the Eternal Archives: The management would like to thank architect Sonja Gasparin for the new models from Switzerland (1st row, 2nd and 3rd photo) and Dr. Mariella Meyer for the specimens from Portland, Oregon (2nd row below). The scriptoral object (upper left) could at best come from Lawrence Weiner, who unfortunately passed away, but was photographed by the head of the archive in 2022 on Gumpendorferstraße in Vienna, the striking fire hydrant with car tires in 1988 in the Bronx in New York. Fire hydrants belong to the darlings of the lonely collector, they are not only a symbol of sustainability and usefulness, but also a source of consolation in hours when the meaningfulness of the overall project is once again pondered.
