Beverly Hills | US; Wien | AT · 1945–2023 (© Estate Man Ray; © Open.ai.com; Skizze © PP · # 2790 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Während ich die Bleistiftskizze des Portraits zeichnete, das Man Ray von seiner Frau Juliet im Jahr 1945 in Paris fotografiert hatte, kam mir (abgesehen von den üblichen Gedanken, warum und überhaupt etc und Lauf der Welt und ob das jetzt ein Blaudruck-Halstuch ist – Gerda Buxbaum, was meinen Sie?) auch in den Sinn, wie ein AI-Image-Generator (also eine Software, die mit „künstlicher Intelligenz / KI aus Texteingaben Bilder produziert) ein „Portrait“ von Juliet Man Ray machen würde – auch im klaren Gegensatz zu meiner schnellen Skizze.

„Juliet Man Ray, geborene Browner (1912–1991), stammte aus der New Yorker Bronx. Sie studierte Tanz bei Martha Graham und wurde später Mannequin. 1941 lernte sie Man Ray kennen, kurz nach dessen Ankunft in Kalifornien. 1946 heirateten sie in Beverly Hills – in einer Doppelhochzeit mit Max Ernst und Dorothea Tanning – und gingen 1951 nach Paris. Beverly Hills | US; Vienna | AT 1945–2023 (© Estate Man Ray; © Open.ai.com; sketch © PP # 2790 www.ewigesarchiv.at) While I was drawing the pencil sketch of the portrait Man Ray had of his wife Juliet in 1945 in photographed Paris, it also occurred to me (apart from the usual thoughts, why and in general etc and how the world works and whether that is now a blue print scarf – Gerda Buxbaum, what do you think?) like an AI image Generator (i.e. software that uses “artificial intelligence / AI to produce images from text input) would make a “portrait” of Juliet Man Ray – also in clear contrast to my quick sketch.

Juliet Man Ray, née Browner (1912-1991), was from the Bronx in New York. She studied dance with Martha Graham and later became a model. In 1941 she met Man Ray, shortly after his arrival in California. In 1946 they married in Beverly Hills – in a double marriage with Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning – and went to Paris in 1951. Juliet remained married to Man Ray until his death in 1976.” L.P.
