These Boots Are Made for Walkin’! Zeitreise mit Schuhen. Amsterdam | NL; Damtschach, Wien | AT; Montreal | CA; Paris | FR · 1973–2020 (© OO · Ewiges Archiv) Die beiden SW-Fotos sind 1973 beim Flohmarkt „Am Hof“ im 1. Bezirk in Wien entstanden – insbesondere am großen Foto kann ich mich kaum satt sehen: ich entdecke immer wieder zeittypische Besonderheiten, für mich hält es einen ganz speziellen Moment fest, ein „Zeit-im-Bild“-Moment: Ein Kind (vermutlich ein Bub) klammert sich an seine Mutter („der hängt ja am Rockzipfel . . . !“), beide Beine in der Luft, eine kurze gestrickte Hose, halbhohe Rauhleder-Schuhe. Die Mutter steht mit beiden Plateau-Stiefeln fest am Boden, um das Gewicht des Kindes abzufangen, die schwarze Hose ist soweit aufgekrempelt, um die Stifel gut zu zeigen, der weite Mantel, Umwurf (Gerda Buxbaum – wie könnte dieses Kleidungsstück heißen?) in dramatischer Bewegung festgehalten. Das Bild ist ein Ausschnitt, links oben wäre noch im Hintergrund ein Bentley oder Rolls zu sehen, den musste ich aber schweren Herzens draußen lassen.

Amsterdam | NL; Damtschach, Vienna | AT; Montreal | CA; Paris | FR · 1973–2020 (© OO · Ewiges Archiv) The two SW photos were taken in 1973 at the “Am Hof” flea market in the 1st district in Vienna – I can hardly get enough of the large photo in particular: I always discover special features typical of the time , for me it captures a very special moment, a “time-in-picture” moment: a child (probably a boy) clings to his mother (“he is hanging on the tip of his skirt …!”), both legs in the air, short knitted pants, half-high suede shoes. The mother stands firmly on the ground with both platform boots to absorb the child’s weight, the black trousers are rolled up to show the Stifel well, the wide coat, overturning (Gerda Buxbaum – what could this garment be called?) In of dramatic movement. The picture is a detail, at the top left a Bentley or Rolls could still be seen, but I had to leave it outside with a heavy heart.
