Wiener Secession. Wien | AT · 1976 – 2017 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Die SW-Aufnahmen entstanden im Jahr 1976 – also vor 41 Jahren – als Thomas Reinhold (www.thomasreinhold.com), Rainer Wölzl (www.woelzl.at) und ich in der Clubgalerie der Wiener Secession ausstellten. (s. Plakat li. unt.) Die Clubgalerie befand sich im Souterrain – dort, wo gegenwärtig der Beethovenfries von Gustav Klimt in einem Klimaraum zu sehen ist. Zu der Zeit war die ursprünglich vergoldete Kuppel längst ohne Glanz, der „VER SACRUM“- (Heiliger Frühling) Schriftzug fehlte etc. Das Gebäude wurde 1985/86 durch Adolf Krischanitz renoviert. Die beiden Farbfotos oben entstanden im Mai 2000 bei einer der Donnerstags-Demos gegen die schwarzblaue FPÖVP-Koalition, die ich rund 1 1/2 Jahre gemeinsam mit Johann Reisinger dokumentierte. Das Farbfoto in der unt. Reihe neben dem Plakat zeigt eine Fahrraddemo der Critical Mass vom 18. August 2017, die monatlich abgehalten wird, um dem motorisierten Individualverkehr ein Gegengewicht zu setzen. Das mit dem Großdruck verhängte Portal ist aus 2010. Die Wiener Secession ist eine Vereinigung bildender Künstler in Wien aus der Zeit des Fin de siècle. Davon abgeleitet wird auch die Wiener Variante des Jugendstils als Secessionsstil oder Wiener Jugendstil bezeichnet. Die Wiener Secession wurde am 3. April 1897 von Gustav Klimt, Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann, Joseph Maria Olbrich, Max Kurzweil, Josef Engelhart, Ernst Stöhr, Wilhelm List und anderen Künstlern als Abspaltung (Secession) vom Wiener Künstlerhaus gegründet, da die Künstler den am Künstlerhaus vorherrschenden Konservatismus und traditionellen – am Historismus orientierten – Kunstbegriff ablehnten. Vorbild war die Münchner Secession. Die erste Ausstellung fand 1898 statt. Im selben Jahr wurde die bedeutendste österreichische Kunstzeitschrift Ver Sacrum gegründet. Links neben der Eingangstür findet sich der Wahlspruch Ver Sacrum (Heiliger Frühling), der die Hoffnung auf eine neue Kunstblüte ausdrücken soll. (Quelle: wiki)

Vienna Secession. Vienna | AT · 1976 – 2017 (© PP · Eternal Archives) The SW images were taken in 1976 – 41 years ago – as Thomas Reinhold (www.thomasreinhold.com), Rainer Wölzl (www.woelzl.at) and myself in the Club Gallery of the Vienna Secession exhibited. (see poster left) The Club Gallery was located in the basement – where currently the Beethoven Frieze by Gustav Klimt can be seen in a climate room. At that time, the originally gilded dome had long been without shine, the “VER SACRUM” (Holy Spring) lettering was missing etc. The building was renovated in 1985/86 by Adolf Krischanitz. The two color photos above were taken in May 2000 during one of the Thursday demos against the black and blue FPÖVP coalition, which I documented together with Johann Reisinger for about 1 1/2 years. The color photo in the unt. Row next to the poster shows a bike demonstration of the Critical Mass from 18 August 2017, which is held monthly to counterbalance the motorized individual traffic. The portal printed with the large print is from 2010. The Viennese Secession is a union of fine artists in Vienna from the time of the Fin de siècle. Derived from this, the Viennese variant of Art Nouveau is called the Secession style or Viennese Art Nouveau.
