Warnwesten · safety vests

Bei den Gilets Jaunes hierzulande. Wien | AT · 2002–2015 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Ab und zu prüfe ich mich und mein sogenanntes Ewiges Archiv: „Also Herr Direktor – was hamma denn Schönes zum Thema „Warnwesten“ in Ihrem großartigen Archiv?“ Dann wird nachgeschaut, gesichtet, verworfen oder für gut befunden. Manchmal taucht völlig Unerwartetes, Vergessenes auf, manchmal natürlich gar nichts – komplette Enttäuschung.

Bei der heutigen Überprüfung kamen einerseits All-time-Favorits wie das Foto des Herrn mit dem beachtlichen Vokuhila und der Warnweste zum Vorschein (links oben), der mir vor mehr als 15 Jahren aufgefallen war und dem ich eine Zeitlang gefolgt war, weiters die Gruppe von Bauingenieuren (weiße Helme!) in der U-Bahn mit Warnwesten (unten mittig) – dann aber, was ich völlig vergessen hatte: „Warnwesten bei Train of Hope – Flüchtlingshilfe am Hauptbahnhof“! Train of Hope (ToH) war eine von einer engagierten Gruppe völlig unabhängig organisierte Hilfe für Flüchtlinge, Geflüchtete, Migrant*innen . . . (Begriffe bitte nach Bedarf selber einsetzen) im Jahr 2015 im Hauptbahnhof Wien, als Tausende, Zehntausende, Hundertausende Menschen in Bewegung waren. (über ToH siehe Online-Katalog-link). Die Koordinator*innen von ToH trugen Warnwesten mit aufgeklebten Zetteln mit den Funktionen. Ich selbst war kein Koordinator, aber rund 5 Wochen meist ganz in der Früh dabei. Eine besonders prägnante und gerngesehene Gruppe von Warnwesten-Trägern waren die Sikhs, die jeden Tag in ihrem Versammlungslokal in einem Bezirk jenseits der Donau Essen kochten, es in großen Töpfen zum Hauptbahnhof brachten und dort verteilten. Das Foto rechts oben zeigt einen Geflüchteten aus dem Irak, der bei ToH mitarbeitete, mit dem 2. Band des ewigen Archivs: New Stuff, das eine Bildstrecke mit Aufnahmen beinhaltet, die mein Vater im Jahr 1953 aufgenommen hatte, als er beim Aufbau einer österreichischen Berufsschule in Mossul mitarbeitete. Viel der auf den Aufnahmen und im Buch dokumentierten Orte waren zu dem Zeitpunkt zerstört – ich hatte eine größere Anzahl an Büchern mitgenommen und an aus dem Irak Stammende verteilt. (Da dachte ich mir: siehst – zumindest das ist gut, dass Du diese Aufnahmen gesammelt, zusammengestellt und veröffentlicht hast)

Vienna | AT · 2002-2015 (© PP · Eternal Archives) From time to time I check myself and my so-called Eternal Archive: “So Mr. Director – what’s beautiful on the subject of” warning vests “in your great archive?” Then it is looked up, spotted, rejected or approved. Sometimes, the unexpected, forgotten, sometimes nothing at all – complete disappointment.
On today’s review, on the one hand, there were all-time favorites, such as the photo of the gentleman with the respectable vocabulu and the safety vest (top left), which I noticed more than 15 years ago and followed for a while, and the group of civil engineers (white helmets!) in the subway with safety vests (bottom center) – but then, what I had completely forgotten: “safety vests at Train of Hope – refugee aid at the main station”! Train of Hope (ToH) was a help organization for refugees, refugees, migrants, organized by a dedicated group. , , (Please use your own terms as needed) in 2015 at Vienna Central Station, when thousands, tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of people were on the move. (via ToH see online catalog link). The co-ordinators of ToH wore safety vests with attached labels with the functions. I myself was not a coordinator, but about 5 weeks mostly in the morning. A particularly succinct and well-respected group of safety vests wearers were the Sikhs, who cooked food every day in their assembly hall in a district on the other side of the Danube, brought it to the central station in large pots and distributed it there. The photo at the top right shows a refugee from Iraq working on ToH, with the second volume of the eternal archive: New Stuff, which contains a series of images taken by my father in 1953 when he was building an Austrian Vocational school in Mosul cooperated. Many of the locations documented on the recordings and in the book were destroyed at the time – I had taken a large number of books and distributed them to people from Iraq. (That’s when I thought: you see – at least that’s good, that you collected, compiled and published these recordings)
