Wandbild beim Haus des Meeres. Wien | AT · 2017 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Um dieses Wandbild ist nach einem FB-Posting von Martin Fritz eine kleine Diskussion entstanden – ein „Sturm im FB-Wasserglas“ sozusagen. zB: „es ist so schlimm, ich wohne in der nähe und leide nun jedem tag darunter“, oder: „die graffititaskforce wird vermutlich nicht lang untätig bleiben“, „unfassbar ekelhaft.“ „Zum ersten mal bin ich auf der seite der sprayer“ . . .

Ich bin während der Entstehung dazugekommen und habe kurz mit dem beauftragten Wiener Graffiti-Artist gesprochen (li. ob.), der mir ua. erzählte, dass die blauen Flächen von Bewohner*innen der nahegelegenen Gruft der Caritas bemalt wurden. Ich bin allerdings im Haus des Meers oft bei Regenwetter mit Kindern gewesen und kann mir gut vorstellen, dass dieses Wandbild Kindern gut gefällt, es passt zum Thema – ob die überdeckten Graffitis unersetzliche Inkunabeln der Street-Art waren, möchte ich nicht beurteilen, das gegenüberliegende APOLLO-Kino ist in meinen Augen jedenfalls kein Guggenheim-Museum. Dass Bewohner*innen der Gruft mitgearbeitet haben, finde ich auch sehr gut. just my 5 Cents.

I came in during the creation and spoke briefly with the Viennese graffiti artist (left above), who among other things, said that the blue areas were painted by residents of the nearby Caritas Gruft (crypt).
