„Im Mai 2001 wurde der Glaskubus der Künstlerin VALIE EXPORT eröffnet. Sie ist eine der wichtigsten internationalen Pionierinnen konzeptueller Medien-, Performance- und Filmkunst. Dieser Transparente Raum wurde unter einem Gürtelbogen neben der U-Bahn-Station Josefstädter Straße im 8. Bezirk platziert: 8., Lerchenfelder Gürtel, Bogen 48. . . . Der Kubus EXPORT war ein Teil der Aktivitäten zur Neubelebung des Gürtels im Rahmen des EU-Projektes Urban Wien Gürtel Plus mit der Absicht "Frauen sichtbar zu machen". Er wurde mit Mitteln der Europäischen Union und des Frauenressorts der Stadt Wien realisiert. Er sollte fallweise als Treffpunkt für Frauen/Frauenthemen, für Präsentationen, Lesungen und Diskussionen genutzt werden.“ (wien.gv.at)

“In May 2001, the glass cube of the artist VALIE EXPORT was opened. She is one of the most important international pioneers of conceptual media, performance and film art. This Transparent Room was placed under a belt arch next to the subway station Josefstädter Straße in the 8th district: 8th, Lerchenfelder Gürtel, Bogen 48.. , , The cube EXPORT was part of the revitalization activities of the belt within the framework of the EU project Urban Wien Gürtel Plus with the intention of “making women visible”. It was realized with funds from the European Union and the Women’s Department of the City of Vienna. It should be used on a case-by-case basis as a meeting place for women’s / women’s issues, for presentations, readings and discussions. “(Wien.gv.at)
