Tankstelle / Gas station. AT · 2000 – 2017 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv). Der „Katastropen-Tankwart“ erinnert sich. Mein erster Ferialjob war Tankwart bei der ARAL-Tankstelle Lahnsteiner in Langwies. Am zweiten Arbeitstag betankte ich in einen VW-Bus – kurze Zeit später kam der Fahrer per Autostopp zurück, außer sich vor Empörung: „Du hast mir Diesel eingefüllt!“ Das Auto musste abgeschleppt werden, der Motor in der angeschlossenen KFZ-Werkstatt gereinigt werden – für die dort beschäftigten Mechaniker hatte ich natürlich für der Lacher des Tages gesorgt: „Katastropehn-Tankwart!“ ab dann meine Berufsbezeichnung. Eine neig Linderung war dann, dass mein Schulkollege Hans einige Tage später in einen Mercedes statt Diesel Super-Benzin einfüllte. ;-) Die in den oberen beiden Fotos angezeigten Preise sind Schillingpreise – also noch vor der Währungs-Umstellung zu Euro im Jahr 1999. Manchmal, wenn ich sehr früh unterwegs bin, gehe ich zur nahegelegenen Nachttankstelle und schaue dem Betrieb zu. Das Foto links unten ist das einzige, das ich bisher machen konnte – Fotografieren zu der Tageszeit nicht gern gesehen (vermutlich auch nicht untertags). Im Jahr 2015 wurden in Österreich 8,1 Mio. Tonnen Benzin und Diesel verbraucht – laut Schätzung des Fachverbandes der Mineralölindustrie (FVMI) in der Wirtschaftskammer. Mit beigemischten Bioanteilen waren das knapp 2,2 Mrd. Liter Benzin und etwa 7,6 Mrd.

My first holiday job was a gas station attendant at the ARAL petrol station Lahnsteiner in Langwies. On the second working day I fueled in a VW bus – a short time later, the driver came back by car, except outraged: “You have filled me with diesel!” The car had to be towed, the engine to be cleaned in the connected car repair shop – Of course, I had taken care of the laughter of the day for the mechanics employed there: “disaster gas station attendant!” From then my job title. A little relief was then that my schoolmate Hans filled a few days later in a Mercedes instead of diesel super gasoline. 😉 The prices shown in the two photos above are schilling prices – that is, even before the currency changeover to the euro in 1999. Sometimes, when I am very early on the road, I go to the nearby night petrol station and watch the operation. The photo on the bottom left is the only thing I’ve been able to do so far – taking photos at the time of day is not welcome (probably not during the day). In 2015, 8.1 million tonnes of gasoline and diesel were consumed in Austria – according to estimates by the Association of the Mineral Oil Industry (FVMI) in the Economic Chamber.
