Der Begriff „street furniture“ ist sowohl im Werk der Fotografen Ansel Adams, Walker Evans, Edward Weston – selbstverständlich auch bei Robert Frank von Bedeutung (ich denke sogar, dass er in fotografischem Zusammenhang von Edward Weston erstmals geprägt bzw. verwendet worden ist) Diese – und auch viele andere Fotograf*innen – „notierten“ Objekte, die eine Stadt, einen Lebensbereich auch kennzeichnen: Hydranten, Briefkästen, Straßenschilder, Geschäftsfassaden uvm. Walker Evans plante explizit eine „Street Furniture Serie“.

The term “street furniture” is used in the work of photographers Ansel Adams, Walker Evans, Edward Weston – of course also with Robert Frank (I even think that it was first coined or used in a photographic context by Edward Weston) – and also many other photographers – “noted” objects that also characterize a city, an area of life: hydrants, letter boxes, street signs, shop facades and much more. Walker Evans explicitly planned a “Street Furniture Series”.
