Riesige Weintrauben, Walfische und Hasen aus dem Zylinder: Skulpturen und Objekte im öffentlichen Raum, die nicht explizit als „Kunst im öffentlichen Raum“ oder „Kunst am Bau“ beauftragt wurden bzw. gedacht waren und deren Autor*innen meist nicht namentlich bekannt sind. Langwies, Offensee, Wien | AT; Kaltern | IT · 2001–2011 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Seit Langem begeistern mich Objekte im öffentlichen Raum mit anonymer Urheberschaft, die meist nicht im Kunstkontext entstanden sind (manche allerdings finde ich auch hässlich, klar – aber das ist bei beauftragten „Kunst im öffentlichen Raum-Arbeiten“ durchaus auch hin und wieder der Fall.

Zu den Fotos: Überdimensionaler Hut mit Gamsbart eines „Bartbinders“ im Offensee/OÖ; Walfisch als Kennung des Gasthauses „Zum Walfisch“ im Prater – hat mich über Jahrzehnte begeistert. Der Walfisch ist jetzt in der Sammlung des Wien Museums; Gorilla einer Geisterbahn im Prater; Riesen-Weintraube in Kaltern, Südtirol,IT; Hase aus dem Zylinder eines Geschäfts für Zauberzubehör; Schwein von Tierschutz-Aktivist*innen, Wien; Eisbärenfamilie im Prater; mit der Motorsäge geformter Bär in Langwies/OÖ.

Langwies, Offensee, Vienna | AT; Caldaro | IT · 2001–2011 (© PP · Eternal Archives) I have long been fascinated by objects in public space with anonymous authorship, which mostly did not arise in the context of art (some, however, I find ugly, clear – but this is the case with commissioned “art in public Spatial work ”is definitely the case every now and then.
To the photos: oversized hat with chamois beard of a “beard binder” in Offensee / Upper Austria; Whale as the identifier of the “Zum Walfisch” inn in the Prater – has inspired me for decades. The whale is now in the collection of the Wien Museum; Gorilla of a ghost train in the Prater; Giant bunch of grapes in Kaltern, South Tyrol, IT; Rabbit out of the top hat of a magic accessories store; Pig from animal protection activists, Vienna; Polar bear family in the Prater; Bear shaped with a chainsaw in Langwies / Upper Austria.
