Sledgehammer – Lieber Hammer als Nagel! Zur Preisentwicklung und Gestaltung des Hammerschlags. Wien | AT · 1973–2020 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Zwischen dem linken SW-Bild (1973) und dem rechten Farbfoto (2011) gibt es – abgesehen von der Farbigkeit – zwei besonders markante Unterschiede: Der Hammer vor 47 Jahren konnte „freihändig“ gehoben, geschwungen und geschlagen werden, beim Apparat rechts ist der Hammer auf einem gebogenen Rundstab fixiert und kann nur eingeschränkt bzw. „geführt“ gehoben und geschlagen werden. Und: das Gerät rechts ist ein Apparat mit Münzeinwurf, vor einigen Jahrzehnten beaufsichtigte und organisierte ein Mitarbeiter des Praterunternehmers die Feststellung der Schlagkraft. 1 Schlag kostete damals 2,– Schillinge, 3 Schläge 5,- Schillinge, im Automaten schlagen sich zwei Schläge mit 50 Cent zu Buche. (1 Euro wurde zur Einführung mit etwa 14 Schillingen umgerechnet)

Vienna | AT · 1973–2020 (© PP · Eternal Archives) Between the left black and white picture (1973) and the right color photo (2011) there are – apart from the color – two particularly striking differences: the hammer 47 years ago could be “freehand” be lifted, swung and hit, with the device on the right the hammer is fixed on a curved round rod and can only be lifted and hit to a limited extent or “guided”. And: the device on the right is a device with a coin slot, a few decades ago an employee of the Prater entrepreneur supervised and organized the determination of the impact. At that time, 1 hit cost 2 shillings, 3 hits 5 shillings, in the machine two hits cost 50 cents. (1 euro was converted to around 14 shillings for the introduction)
