Lets Go! Promotion People – willige Clowns im Verkaufs- und Verschwendungszirkus des Kapitalismus. Graz, Wien | AT · 2002–2023 (© PP · # 2843 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ok – meine Jobs waren ua.: Frisuren-Modell bei einer Fortbildung der Fa. Schwarzkopf (als ich noch wallendes Haupthaar hatte, klar), Schießscheibenmaler im Hinterzimmer eines Autohauses in Simmering, Medikamententester im AKH, Aktmodell auf der Angewandten und der Kunstschule Wien, Lagerarbeiter bei Citroen in Wien Liesing uä. Als Keiler für „Vier-Pfoten“, Greenpeace etc habe ich nie gearbeitet, ebensowenig Dosen in Affenkostüm verteilt – Gut, gabs damals noch nicht – wer weiß, vielleicht hätte ich das auch gemacht.

Seit mehr als 35 Jahren finanziere ich mein Leben und meine Projekte – Filme, Videos und das Ewige Archiv – als selbständiger Grafiker, vornehmlich im Medien und Kunstbereich. Ich arbeitete einige Jahre in der Digitalen Grafik des ORF, anschließend für Telekabel (später UPC, jetzt ein Teil von T-Mobile), wo ich gemeinsam mit einem Partner ua. den Electronic Program Guide (EPG) für das erste Digitale Fernsehen „Telekino“ in Österreich entwickelt habe und wir anschließend für die gesamte Werbung von Telekabel verantwortlich waren. Also Werbung für ein Medienunternehmen, Plakate, TV-Spots, Anzeigen uva. Keine Werbung für Hundefutter, Shampoo, Klopapier, Fast-Food – also „richtige“ Hardcore-Produktwerbung.

Werbung – insbesondere Produktwerbung – ist meiner Auffassung nach ein zentraler Faktor hinsichtlich Verschwendung von immensen Ressourcen in jedem Bereich.

Graz, Vienna | AT · 2002–2023 (© PP · # 2843 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ok – my jobs included: Hairstyle model at a further training course at Schwarzkopf (when I still had flowing hair, of course), shooting target painter in the back room a car dealership in Simmering, drug tester in the AKH, nude model at the Applied and Art School in Vienna, warehouse worker at Citroen in Vienna Liesing, etc. I never worked as a boar for “Four-Paws”, Greenpeace etc., nor did I distribute cans in monkey costumes – well, that didn’t exist back then – who knows, maybe I would have done that too.
For more than 35 years I have financed my life and my projects – films, videos and the eternal archive – as a freelance graphic designer, primarily in the media and art sector. I worked for a few years in digital graphics at ORF, then for Telekabel (later UPC, now part of T-Mobile), where I worked with a partner, among other things. I developed the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for the first digital television “Telekino” in Austria and we were then responsible for all of Telekabel’s advertising. So advertising for a media company, posters, TV spots, advertisements and much more. No advertising for dog food, shampoo, toilet paper, fast food – in other words, “real” hardcore product advertising.
Advertising – especially product advertising – is, in my opinion, a key factor in wasting immense resources in any area.
