New York | US · 1995–1998. (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Unter den Begriffen „New York“ und „Kunst“, Zeitraum 1990-er Jahre, finden sich in der Bilddatenbank des Ewigen Archivs gerade mal 25 Aufnahmen. Fünfundzwanzig!? Warum nur 25? – frage ich mich selber. Zum einen deshalb, weil ich bis zur Mitte der 1990-er Jahre „analog“ fotografiert habe, insgesamt weniger oft als später digital, ein Teil der Dias sind im Laufe der Jahrzehnte verloren gegangen und vor allem: Fotografieren war in den größeren Museen und Institutionen verboten. Darum habe ich zB vom Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) nur ein Foto des WCs mit einem MoMA-Folder am Boden. Bei einem Besuch 1998 hatte ich nur eine der ersten Digitalcameras mit, mit einer lächerlich kleinen Auflösung (für Daten-Archäolog*innen: Minolta Dimage: 640 x 480 pixel).
