Meret Oppenheim by Man Ray. Paris | FR; Wien | AT · um 1932–2023 (© Estate Man Ray; Skizze © PP · # 2793 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) „Die Schweizer Künstlerin Meret Oppenheim (1913-1985) kam Anfang der 20er Jahre nach Paris. Sie hatte eine sehr enge Beziehung zu Man Ray, der sie oft photographierte, insbesondere für seine Serie „Erotique voilee“ (1933-1934), die in der Zeitschrift Minotaure erschien. Im Rahmen der „Exposition surrealiste d’objets“, die im Mai 1936 bei Charles Ratton in Paris stattfand, präsentierte sie - neben den Objekten von Man Ray, Joan Mirö, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti und Max Ernst – ihr Dejeuner en fourrure. She had a very close relationship with Man Ray, who often photographed her, particularly for his series “Erotique voilee” (1933-1934) that appeared in Minotaure magazine. As part of the “Exposition surrealiste d’objets”, which took place in May 1936 at Charles Ratton’s in Paris, she presented her Dejeuner en fourrure alongside objects by Man Ray, Joan Mirö, Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti and Max Ernst.
