Mara Mattuschka: „Casanovas Krone“. Großartiger Neuzugang in die Sammlung Ewiges Archiv! Große Freude! Roma | IT; Wien | AT · 1976–2026 (Gemälde © Mara Mattuschka; HiRes-Repro Dieter Brasch; Filmstills © Nachlass Federico Fellini/Alberto Grimaldi; Portrait © PP · # 3710 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ich arbeite seit längerer Zeit an einem Film über die Malerin, Filmemacherin, Sängerin, Schriftstellerin und was weiß ich noch Künstlerin Mara Mattuschka, die ich seit Mitte der 1980er Jahre kenne und deren vielfältige Werke und konsequente Arbeit ich herausragend finde. Punktum. Der Film ist bereits weit gediehen und entsteht in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Moni Parii, Schnitt und dramaturgische Mitarbeit / On Screen. Im Rahmen der Dreharbeiten sah ich eine Reihe von Bildern, die mir sehr gut gefielen – eines davon –„Casanovas Krone“ – ist nun Teil der Sammlung Ewiges Archiv. Mara Mattuschka malte es im Jahr 2020, zu „Corona-Zeiten“ also, die „Lichtskulptur“ am unglaublich plastisch modellierten Kopf referenziert auf die Lichterkrone von Giacomo Casanova im Film „Fellinis Casanova“ aus 1976 (siehe Filmstills unten und Text zur Szene). Ich finde die Darstellung des Kopfes mit gesenktem Blick und Licht auf den Wimpern, dem feinen Lichtsaum links am Gesicht, die Durcharbeitung der „Krone“, die Flammen, den Lichthof und den Farbraum im Hintergrund des Sujets exzeptionell. Ein Gemälde, das ab jetzt für mich eine eigene „Persona“ in meinem Studio und in der Sammlung Ewiges Archiv bildet.

Rome | IT; Vienna | AT · 1976–2026 (Painting © Mara Mattuschka; HiRes-Repro Dieter Brasch; Film stills © Estate of Federico Fellini/Alberto Grimaldi; Portrait © PP · # 3710 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) I have been working for some time on a film about the painter, filmmaker, singer, writer, and who knows what else, artist Mara Mattuschka, whom I have known since the mid-1980s and whose diverse works and consistent dedication I find outstanding. Period. The film is already well advanced and is being produced in close collaboration with Moni Parii, editing and dramaturgy / On Screen. During filming, I saw a number of paintings that I liked very much – one of them – “Casanova’s Crown” – is now part of the Eternal Archive collection. Mara Mattuschka painted it in 2020, during the „Corona era.“ The „light sculpture“ on the incredibly sculpted head references Giacomo Casanova’s crown of lights in the 1976 film „Fellini’s Casanova“ (see film stills below and text accompanying the scene). I find the depiction of the head with its lowered gaze and light on the eyelashes, the delicate halo of light on the left side of the face, the detailed rendering of the „crown,“ the flames, the halo of light, and the color space in the background of the subject exceptional. From now on, this painting will have its own „persona“ in my studio and in the Eternal Archive collection.
