Ein Männlein steht im Walde, ganz still und stumm. Boston & NYC, Staten Island | US; Montréal | CA · 1995 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Hydranten beschäftigen mich seit Langem – wohl aus unterschiedlichen Gründen (manche davon sicher ganz, ganz tief in meinem Unterbewusstsein verborgen ;-) Ich „sammle“ sie seit vielen Jahren und es gibt eine Reihe von Zusammenstellungen davon. Dies hier ist die erste Version, die ich gemacht habe, nur mit Hydranten(-Fotos) aus Nordamerika. Einige besonders „schöne“ Exemplare stammen von Staten Island, der kleinen, New York vorgelagerten Insel, zu der eine Pendler-Fähre führt, die wesentlich billiger ist als die Touristenboote und den gleichen Blick auf die Skyline von Manhattan ermöglicht. Ich bin aber nicht gleich wieder zurückgefahren, sondern bin einige Stunden auf Staten Island herumspaziert.

Boston & NYC, Staten Island | US; Montréal | CA · 1995 (© PP · Eternal Archive) Hydrants have been occupying me for a long time – probably for a variety of reasons (some of them certainly completely hidden deep within my subconscious mind 😉 I “collect” them for many years and there are a number of compilations from that. This is the first version I made, only with hydrants (photos) from North America. Some particularly “beautiful” specimens are from Staten Island, the small New York offshore island, to which a commuter ferry runs, much cheaper than the tourist boats and providing the same view of the Manhattan skyline. But I did not go back straight away, but spent some hours walking around Staten Island.
