Google Earth eine Erfindung des CIA??? Ja natürlich! Lasset uns singen, tanzen und springen! Linz, Wien | AT · 2020 (Satelliten- und Street-View-Fotos: © Google LLC; Gesichtsanalyse-Software: © affectiva; Displayfoto und Gesicht: © PP; Tableau: © PP · Ewiges Archiv) Dass die Voraussetzungen und Grundlagen von Google Earth Spionage-Satellitenfotos und militärische Überwachungstechnologien sind, scheint offensichtlich, aber so präzise formuliert und bestätigt habe ich das noch nie gehört, wie von der Harvard Professorin Shoshana Zuboff, die im Video „Shoshana Zuboff on surveillance capitalism“ im Zusammenhang mit dem Spiel Pokemon Go, das vornehmlich Kinder (auch) in Geschäfte lockt, folgendes ausspricht:
Shoshana Zuboff: „Es ist wichtig zu verstehen, dass „Pokemon Go“ ein Augmented-Reality-Spiel ist, das über viele Jahre in Google entwickelt wurde. Google ist der erste Pionier des Überwachungs-Kapitalismus, der Erfinder des Überwachungs-Kapitalismus. Pokemon Go wurde in Google erfunden, dort inkubiert und dort unter der Leitung eines Mannes namens John Hanke entwickelt. John Hanke erfand eine Operation namens „Keyhole“ (Schlüsselloch), die von der CIA finanziert und später von Google gekauft und Google Earth genannt wurde.“
Frage: „Google Earth war ursprünglich ein CIA-Startup?“
Shoshana Zuboff: „Ja, Google Earth wurde als „Keyhole“ (Schlüsselloch) bezeichnet und war ein von der CIA investiertes Startup. . . .“

Was bedeutet das, dass jeder Ort der Erde präzise fotografiert wurde und permanent wird? Auf den Screenshots dieses Tableaus wird „eingezoomt“ auf den Werkstättenhof Wien im 6. Bezirk, in dem sich auch mein Studio befindet. Die Aufnahmen auch aus „Street-view“-Perspektive sind so präzise, dass die kleine Aufschriften und Texte zu lesen sind, die Auto-Kennzeichen sind zwar automatisiert unkenntlich gemacht worden, aber vermutlich, da leicht in Text bzw Zahlen zu „übersetzen“, als Standortdatei des jeweiligen Autos festgeschrieben. Jede Bewegung ist nachvollziehbar. Ich bin auch davon überzeugt, dass nur Satellitenbilder bis zu einer bestimmten Auflösung freigegeben wurden zur „allgemeinen Ansicht“ – die tatsächlichen militärischen Aufnahmen sind sicher wesentlich detailgenauer.
Obs was hilft, dass ich bei meinem Handy das GPS-Tracking ausgeschaltet habe?
Ich und wir alle werden rund um die Uhr an jedem Ort der Welt beobachtet, fotografiert, vermessen und analysiert.
Shoshana Zuboff:
„Die Begriffe Überwachungs-Kapitalismus sind keine willkürlichen Begriffe. Warum Überwachung? Es müssen Operationen sein, die als nicht nachweisbare, nicht entzifferbare Rhetorik konstruiert sind, die darauf abzielen, uns alle die ganze Zeit fehlzuleiten und alles zu verschleiern.
Einige Leute werden zu mir sagen: „Aber Prof. Zuboff, ich mag diese gezielten Anzeigen, die so nützlich sind!“
oder: „Ich genieße personalisierte Dienstleistungen.“
Manchmal werden die Leute sagen: Ich habe nichts zu verbergen. Es ist mir also egal, was sie nehmen.
Jede dieser Aussagen ist ein tiefgreifendes Missverständnis dessen, was wirklich vor sich geht. Wir denken, dass die einzigen persönlichen Informationen, die sie (die Internet-Konzerne – Anm. d. Ü.) über uns haben, die sind, die wir ihnen gegeben haben, und wir denken, dass wir eine gewisse Kontrolle darüber ausüben können, was wir ihnen geben, und deshalb denken wir, dass unsere Berechnung unseres Kompromisses hier etwas ist, das irgendwie unter unserer Kontrolle liegt, dass wir es verstehen. Was wirklich passiert, ist, dass wir persönliche Informationen bereitstellen, aber die Informationen, die wir bereitstellen, sind der am wenigsten wichtige Teil der Informationen, die sie über uns sammeln.“
Dank ihrer Navigations- und Suchmaschine weiß Google ständig, wo wir sind und was wir denken.
Facebook kennt unsere Hobbys, Vorlieben und Freunde, weil sie viele Informationen aus den digitalen Spuren abrufen, die wir unabsichtlich hinterlassen. Rechtschreibfehler in den Suchbegriffen, welche Farbschaltflächen Sie bevorzugen, wie schnell Sie tippen, wie schnell Sie fahren: Alles Restdaten.
Shoshana Zuboff:
„Die Unternehmen sagen gerne, dass wir Daten sammeln, um unseren Service zu verbessern, und das stimmt. Sie sammeln Daten und ein Teil davon wird verwendet, um den Service für Sie zu verbessern, aber noch mehr davon werden analysiert, um das zu trainieren, was sie Modelle nennen, Muster menschlichen Verhaltens. What does that mean that every place on earth has been precisely photographed and becomes permanent? The screenshots of this tableau “zoom in” onto the Werkstättenhof Wien in the 6th district, where my studio is also located. The recordings, also from a “street view” perspective, are so precise that the small inscriptions and texts can be read, the car number plates have been automatically made unrecognizable, but presumably because they can be “translated” easily into text or numbers, as a location file of the respective car. Every movement is traceable. I am also convinced that only satellite images up to a certain resolution have been released for “general view” – the actual military images are certainly much more detailed.
What helps that I have turned off GPS tracking on my cell phone?
Me and all of us are observed, photographed, measured and analyzed around the clock in every place in the world.
Shoshana Zuboff:
“The terms surveillance capitalism are not arbitrary terms. Why surveillance? It must be operations constructed as undetectable, undecipherable rhetoric that aim to mislead all of us all the time and obscure everything.
Some people will say to me: “But Prof. Zuboff, I like these targeted ads that are so useful!”
or: “I enjoy personalized services.”
Sometimes people will say: I have nothing to hide. So I don’t care what they take.
Each of these statements is a profound misunderstanding of what is really going on. We think that the only personal information that they (the internet corporations) have about us is the one that we gave them, and we think we can exercise some control over what we give them, and so we think that our calculation of our compromise here is something that is somehow under our control, that we understand it. What really happens is that we provide personal information, but the information we provide is the least important part of the information they collect about us. ”
Thanks to their navigation and search engine, Google constantly knows where we are and what we think.
Facebook knows our hobbies, preferences and friends because they retrieve a lot of information from the digital traces that we unintentionally leave behind. Spelling mistakes in the search terms, which color buttons you prefer, how fast you type, how fast you drive: all remaining data.
Shoshana Zuboff:
“Companies like to say that we collect data to improve our service, and that’s right. They collect data and part of it is used to improve the service for you, but more of it is analyzed to train what they call models, patterns of human behavior. Once I have large training models, I can see how people with these traits typically behave over time. This way I can fit your data directly into this sheet and predict what you will do not only now, but also soon and later.
That’s what I call excess behavior of these data streams, which are filled with this rich forecast data. Why surplus? From the beginning, this was more data than was needed to improve products and services. “
