Rainer Wölzls Farbkegel. Wien | AT · 2002 – 2018 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Den Maler Rainer Wölzl habe ich bei der Aufnahmsprüfung für die Angewandte im Jahr 1974 kennengelernt, sein Atelier in der Bürgerspitalgasse ist nicht weit von meinem Studio entfernt. Drei seiner großformatigen, mehrteiligen Zeichnungen sind seit kurzem Teil der Sammlung der Albertina und werden im Rahmen von Albertina Contemporary ab Juli 2018 ausgestellt. Großartige Arbeiten am adäquaten Platz!

Den Kegel in seinem Atelier, an dem er Farbreste der Spachteln abstreift, wächst kontinuierlich – das erste Foto links oben stammt aus dem Jahr 2002.

Vienna | AT · 2002 – 2018 (© PP · Eternal Archives) I got to know the painter Rainer Wölzl at the entrance examination for the Angewandte in 1974, his studio in the Bürgerspitalgasse is not far from my studio. Three of his large-format, multi-part drawings have recently become part of the Albertina’s collection, and will be exhibited as part of Albertina Contemporary from July 2018. Great work in the right place!
The cone in his studio, where he scrapes paint remnants of the spatula, is growing continuously – the first photo on the top left is from the year 2002.
