Computeralgorithmen extrahieren die Hauptmerkmale des Gesichts – wie Mund oder Augenbrauen – und analysieren die Bewegung, Form und Struktur dieser Bereiche. Die Analysedaten werden verschiedenen Kategorien wie Glück, Traurigkeit, Wut und anderen Gefühlen zugeordnet. Eingesetzt werden diese Systeme zum beispiel im Marktforschungsbereich, etwa um die Reaktionen von Menschen auf visuelle Reize zu untersuchen. (AEC Ars Electronica Center)

Computer algorithms extract the main features of the face – like mouth or eyebrows – and analyze the movement, shape and structure of these areas. The analysis data are assigned to different categories such as happiness, sadness, anger and other feelings.
