Das Ewige Archiv im Museum moderner Kunst Palais Liechtenstein. Wien | AT · 1988 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Die erste Ausstellung meines Projektes „Das Ewige Archiv“ fand im Mai 1988 im Museum moderner Kunst im Palais Liechtenstein statt, das von 1979 an die Sammlung des Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts aus dem 20er Haus beherbergte. Seit der Betriebsaufnahme im Palais nannte sich die Sammlung Museum moderner Kunst (seit 1991 Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien); 2001 übersiedelte das MUMOK in das neu errichtete MuseumsQuartier.

Eingeladen zur Ausstellung hatte mich Dieter Schrage, der Vater von Götz, der neben Lorand Hegyi Co-Direktor und Kurator des Museums war. (Gr. Foto re.: Dr. Arnulf Rohsmann, der zum Ewigen Archiv sprach, Dieter Schrage und ich) Bei der Ausstellungseröffnung war auch die Premiere von zweien meiner Animationsfilme: „Gelati per tutti“ und „TV Montezuma“. (Beide sind auf youtube zu finden: Gelati: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7LvUi_7RUI&t=232s Tv Montezuma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnN5Ni0yTlk&t=54s ) Die 16-mm Filme wurden als Videos auf einem großen TV-Monitor gezeigt (s. unten Mitte) Rechts oben im Gespräch mit Herbert Tasquil, der mich in seine Meisterklasse auf der Angewandten aufgenommen hatte, Unter seinen Student*innen waren zB. Otto Zitko, Herbert Brandl, Gerald Rockenschaub uva. Beim Betrachten der Fotos erkenne ich viele Bekannte und Freund*innen, zB. den Maler Rainer Wölzl (li. ob. mit Schnauzer), den Schriftsteller Walter Pilar, darunter Hildegard und Peter Lahnsteiner, in der Mitte des oberen Fotos denke ich Eva Blimlinger, die derzeitige Rektorin der Akademie am Schillerplatz., rechts unten: die Musiker Heil Deinboek und Harry Pierron.

Vom 26. April 1979 an mietete das seit 1962 im so genannten 20er Haus untergebrachte Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts, ein Bundesmuseum, das Palais als neues Haupthaus; das 20er Haus wurde als Dependance weitergeführt. Seit der Betriebsaufnahme im Palais nannte sich die Sammlung Museum moderner Kunst (seit 1991 Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien); 2001 übersiedelte das MUMOK in das neu errichtete MuseumsQuartier.

I was invited to the exhibition by Dieter Schrage, Götz’s father, who was the co-director and curator of the museum alongside Lorand Hegyi. (Gr. Otto Zitko, Herbert Brandl, Gerald Rockenschaub and many others. When viewing the photos, I recognize many friends and acquaintances, eg. the painter Rainer Wölzl (left to right with Schnauzer), the writer Walter Pilar, among them Hildegard and Peter Lahnsteiner, in the middle of the above picture I think Eva Blimlinger, the current rector of the academy at Schillerplatz., lower right: the musician Heil Deinboek and Harry Pierron.

From April 26, 1979, the Museum of the Twentieth Century, a Federal Museum housed since 1962 in the so-called ’20er Haus’, rented the Palais as the new main building; the 20er house was continued as a dependance.
