Ende der Denkpause. Zur Wahl stehen & gehen. Amsterdam | NL; Wien | AT · 1988– 2022 (Plakat re: © Heinz Baumüller © PP · # 2602 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Frühmorgens den ortsüblichen Härtetest gemacht: „Was hat denn das Ewige Archiv zum Thema „Wahl“, insbesondere „Präsidentschafts-Wahl“ anzubieten? In Boxershorts und barfuß die Bilddatenbank angeworfen (sound: „Entspannende Musik für Schlaf, Meditation & Stressabbau“ ;-) schon tauchen ein paar tausend Pics aus dem Daten-Orkus auf. Aber nein – die nicht, tönts in mir, irgendwas Metauniverse-mäßiges bittschön. Leise schleicht sich dann ein: „hab’ ich da nicht ein Plakat von Heinz Baumüller?“ Aber gern doch, ist in der Plakatsammlung: „HÖCHSTE ÖBB“ – eine beachtliche Plakataktion des Künstlers Heinz Baumüller aus 1988: „AM BESTEN WÄHLEN SIE MICH NOCH HEUTE. LISTE 88“ (Zur Sicherheit: satirisch gemeint 88 ist synonym für HH und das die Abkürzung für – eh klar)

2016 war ich selbst sehr engagiert in der Unterstützungs-Bewegung für Alexander vdB. Ab dem Moment, als feststand, dass Ingenieur H der Kandidat der FPÖ sein würde. Einige Wochen lang Broschüren und Wahlmaterial verteilen bei den U-Bahn-Stationen Reumann-Platz in Favoriten, Am Schöpfwerk, in Liesing uva. War eine interessante Zeit. Das Foto des Rucksacks mit „ENDE DER DENKPAUSE“ stammt von der ersten Stimmenauszählung, aufgenommen am 22. Mai 2016 im Palais Auersperg. Dann zweite Runde. Das Foto oben mit den beiden Kandidaten am Abend der Stichwahl, des zweiten Wahlganges, am 4. Dezember 2016 in den Sophien-Sälen. Tatsächlich unglaublicher Jubel und Erleichterung. Zumindest die, die dort waren, fanden sich von einem drohendem Alptraum befreit.

Ja, ich werde heute wieder Alexander vdB wählen, weil wen sonst? Die Truppe der Corona—Verschwörer*innen & Impf-Gegner*innen? Den sympathischen Schuh-Schwurbler? (der FP-Kandidant startet ja für mich in einem anderen Meta-Meta-Universe) Dann gibts einige Fürsprecher des Bierpartei-Kandidaten. (Ah – wieder mal: Guten Morgen, Thomas ;-) Aber ich bin jetzt alt und ehrlich gesagt die Plakate sind lobenswert bescheiden . . . Der rote Sticker links unten klebte auf einem dieser Plakate.

Ah ja: Das rote Plakat mit Tomate, „STEM SP“ fotografierte ich in Amsterdam und fand ich in seiner knappen Form schlicht großartig.

End of the pause for thought. Stand & go to vote. Amsterdam | NL; Vienna | AT 1988– 2022 (Poster re: © Heinz Baumüller © PP # 2602 www.ewigesarchiv.at) Early in the morning I did the customary local endurance test: “What does the Eternal Archive have to offer on the subject of elections, especially presidential elections? ? Started up the image database in boxer shorts and barefoot (sound: “Relaxing music for sleep, meditation & stress relief” 😉 and a few thousand pics from the data orcus appeared. But no – not them, sounds to me, something Metauniverse-like, please. Then the following quietly creeps in: “Don’t I have a poster by Heinz Baumüller?” But I’d love to, the poster collection contains: “HÖCHSTE ÖBB” – a remarkable poster campaign by the artist Heinz Baumüller from 1988: “YOU MUST CHOOSE ME TODAY. LISTE 88” (To be on the safe side: satirically meant 88 is synonymous with HH and that is the abbreviation for – anyway of course)
In 2016 I was very involved in the support movement for Alexander vdB. From the moment it was clear that Engineer H would be the FPÖ’s candidate. Distribute brochures and election material for a few weeks at the Reumann-Platz underground stations in Favoriten, Am Schöpfwerk, in Liesing and many others. Was an interesting time. The photo of the backpack with “ENDE DER DENKPAUSE” comes from the first vote count, taken on May 22, 2016 in Palais Auersperg. Then second round. The photo above with the two candidates on the evening of the runoff election, the second ballot, on December 4, 2016 in the Sophien Halls. Incredible jubilation and relief indeed. At least those who were there found themselves relieved of an impending nightmare.
Yes, I will vote for Alexander vdB again today, because who else? The squad of Corona conspirators & opponents of vaccination? The likeable Schuh-Schwurbler? (the FP candidate starts in a different meta-meta-universe for me) Then there are some advocates of the beer party candidate. (Ah – again: good morning Thomas 😉 But I’m old now and frankly the posters are commendably humble. . . The red sticker on the bottom left was stuck on one of these posters.
Ah yes: I photographed the red poster with tomato, “STEM SP” in Amsterdam and found it simply great in its concise form.
