Dreht sich die Welt überhaupt noch? Wenn ja: wozu? Und mittendrin bin ich oder wer? Wien | AT · 2007–2021 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Grad bei der alljährlich vorgeschriebenen Ewiges-Archiv-Prater-Expedition mit dem Forschungsrad „Admiral Marillenkrapfen“ festgestellt, dass mein Lieblings-Globus offensichtlich kürzlich frisch renoviert wurde. Schnell dokumentiert, bevor die ödesten und patschertsten „Street-Artists“ von Mitteleuropa ihre „Tags“ und „scripts“ (s. links und oben) draufpinkeln. Ja – die Weltkugel beim Planetarium im Prater dreht sich gut gelagert und geschmiert, hier ist sie also noch in Ordnung, „meine Welt“.

Die Österreichisch-Ungarische Nordpolarexpedition (von Julius Payer Österreich-Ungarische Nordpolexpedition und volkstümlich auch Payer-Weyprecht-Expedition genannt) startete 1872 unter der Leitung von Carl Weyprecht und Julius Payer und endete 1874. Sie wurde auf Initiative und mit finanzieller Förderung von Hans Graf Wilczek durchgeführt, um das Nördliche Eismeer näher zu erkunden. Zu den weiteren Finanziers gehörte Friedrich Schey von Koromla. Die Besatzung der Expedition wurde aus ganz Österreich-Ungarn rekrutiert, speziell aber aus Istrien und Dalmatien. Das Expeditionsschiff Admiral Tegetthoff war ein Segelschiff mit Hilfsmotor und verließ mit einer 24-köpfigen Besatzung im Juli 1872 den norwegischen Hafen Tromsø. Ende August blieb es nördlich von Nowaja Semlja auf 79° 51′ im Eis stecken und wurde in bis dato nur Robbenjägern und Walfängern bekannte Polarregionen abgetrieben.

The Austro-Hungarian North Pole Expedition (from Julius Payer Austro-Hungarian North Pole Expedition and popularly also called Payer-Weyprecht Expedition) started in 1872 under the direction of Carl Weyprecht and Julius Payer and ended in 1874. It was initiated and financially supported by Count Hans Wilczek carried out to explore the Arctic Ocean more closely. Friedrich Schey von Koromla was one of the other financiers.
