Corona-Selbstportraits: Getting ready! Vorbereitungen für die Mr. und Ms. Corona-Wahlen. Wien | AT · 2020 (© PP · # 3717 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Wann war jetzt eigentlich die Corona-Zeit? Wann war jetzt dieser Lockdown? Wie war das mit den Corona-Tests? Wie war das, als ich dann wirklich Corona bekam und alleine im Studio lag? Wie war das mit den Anti-Corona-Demos? Was hieß MFG? An Klopapier gab’s jedenfalls keinen Mangel, weil das von der Verwaltung des Gebäudes beigestellt wurde, in dem mein Studio ist. Soviele Züge gehn, wer weiß wohin? Eines weiß ich: Diese und noch viele mehr Zeichnungen aus der „Corona-Zeit“ habe ich in meinen Planschränken, ich kann die Spuren und Linien sehen, das Datum lesen, darüber lachen, sie schlecht und/oder gut finden. Ein weiteres Beisoiel, wofür „Kunst“ (sind meine Zeichnungen „Kunst“?) gut ist – bzw nenne ichs halt einfach das, was sie ohne Zweifel sind, also „Zeichnungen“: Es sind allesamt persönliche Spuren meiner Lebenszeit, vergänglich wie Spuren im Sand, vermutlich aber dauerhafter, als meine besten digitalen Hervorbringungen.

When did this lockdown start? What was it like with the Corona tests? What was it like when I actually got Corona and was lying alone in the studio? What were the anti-Corona demonstrations like? What did MFG mean? At least there was no shortage of toilet paper, because it was provided by the management of the building where my studio is located. So many trains are running, who knows where they’re going? One thing I do know: I have these and many more drawings from the „Corona period“ in my plan chests; I can see the traces and lines, read the date, laugh about them, find them bad and/or good. Another example of what „art“ (are my drawings „art“?) is good for—or rather, I simply call them what they undoubtedly are: „drawings.“ They are all personal traces of my life, fleeting like footprints in the sand, but probably more lasting than my best digital creations.
