Virtual Trip: Centre Pompidou. Paris | FR · 1990–2015 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Fast jedes Museum, jede Kunstinstitution lädt in Corona-Times und dem weitgehenden Lockdown zu Online-Besuchen ein, jede Galerie, die einigermaßen mithalten will, stellt Ausstellungen und Atelierbesuche der von ihr vertretenen Künstler*innen ins Netz. Das Ewige Archiv will nicht zurückstehen – darum habe ich mir die Aufgabe gestellt, 10 Fotos von Besuchen im Centre Pompidou, der riesigen „Ausstellungs-Maschine“ in Paris, auszusuchen und zusammenzustellen.

Voilá (von li. ob.): Ein „Robot-Man“-Pantomime am Vorplatz des Centre Pompidou, 1990; Außenansicht des Gebäudes mit einem riesigen goldfarbenen Objekt davor, 2002; der gleiche vergoldete „Blumentopf“, möglicherweise eine Arbeit des US-amerikanischen Künstlers James Lee Byars, am Dach des Gebäudes im Jahr 2011; ein Autodrom-Wagen, aus dem Rummelplatz Zusammenhang isoliert, 2011; „Les archives de Christian Boltanski 1965–1988“, Metall-Boxen, Fotos, Drucksachen, Bürolampen und Kabel, 2015; eine Ausstellungsbesucherin fotografiert mit dem iPhone einen Luftballonhund der Jeff-Koons-Kunstfabrik – meiner Auffassung nach ein diametral entgegengesetztes Objekt zum Werk von Boltanski, 2015; Außenansicht mit den Rolltreppen-Röhren, 2015; einer der nicht wenigen, die am Boden um das gebäude Schlafenden, 2015; ein Schlauchboot aus Bronze, ein in den letzten Jahren vielfach variiertes Symbol für Fluchten und Migration, 2015; einer der vielfach angebrachten Feuerwehrschläuche im Centre Pompidou.

Das Centre national d’art et de culture Georges-Pompidou, umgangssprachlich auch Centre Pompidou oder Beaubourg, von den Einheimischen auch La Raffinerie genannt, ist ein staatliches Kunst- und Kulturzentrum im 4. Arrondissement von Paris. Es wurde auf Initiative des ehemaligen französischen Staatspräsidenten Georges Pompidou von den Architekten Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers und Gianfranco Franchini entworfen und nach einer fünfjährigen Bauzeit am 31. Januar 1977 eröffnet. Tragwerksplaner war Edmund Happold von Arup.

Every gallery that wants to keep up with it has exhibitions and studio visits by the artists it represents * inside the net. The Eternal Archive doesn’t want to be left behind – that’s why I set myself the task of selecting and compiling 10 photos of visits to the Center Pompidou, the giant “exhibition machine” in Paris.

The Center national d’art et de culture Georges-Pompidou, colloquially also Center Pompidou or Beaubourg, also called La Raffinerie by the locals, is a state art and culture center in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. It was designed by architects Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini on the initiative of former French President Georges Pompidou and opened on January 31, 1977 after a five-year construction period. The structural engineer was Edmund Happold from Arup.
