Buddhas Hand und die Zitrone in der Hauptbücherei. Paris | FR; Trieste | IT; Vandans, Wien | AT · 2002–2024 (© PP · # 3071 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Bei einem meiner Besuche in der Hauptbücherei der Büchereien Wien, auf dem kurzen Weg von der Abteilung mit den Graphic Novels und Fotobüchern zu den Regalen mit den DVDs: seh ich doch tatsächlich eine Zitrone am Boden vor einem Fauteuil liegen! Warte kurz, warte, ob sich jemand wieder hinsetzen wird, der möglicherweise die Zitrone als Avatar, als Platzhalter hingelegt hat. Dann aber schnell hin, die wunderbare Objekt-/Raumsituation schnell aus den in den Geboten des Ewigen Archivs vorgeschrieben Positionen bzw. Winkeln fotografiert: über’s Eck, frontal gut ausgerichtet mit ausreichend Raum rundherum und Detail. Bei näherem Hinschauen allerdings musste ich feststellen, dass die Zitrone an einem Ende schon ein wenig weich, beginnend faulig war – nach weiterem kurzen Zögern dann beherzt die kostbare Frucht in den nächst erreichbaren Sicherheits-Abfalleimer geschmissen.

Über Bibliotheken und Büchereien, insbesondere die Büchereien Wien kann ich nicht genug Lobpreisungen schreiben: Eine Bastion des frei zugänglichen Wissens und der Zerstreuung. Unglaublich gut. In kurzen Abständen pendle ich fast täglich jedenfalls regelmäßig die Stätten der Diversität ab: Hauptbücherei am Urban-Loritz-Platz (Fotobücher, Kunstbücher, Graphic Novels und DVDs), Bücherei in der Hormayergasse – mit einer sensationellem Schwerpunkt auf Graphic Novels!! Gestern Bücherei Schwendergasse (drei DVDs erbeutet). Sehr gut auch Bücherei Philadelphiabrücke usw. usf.

Paris | FR; Trieste | IT; Vandans, Vienna | AT – 2002-2024 (© PP – # 3071 – www.ewigesarchiv.at) On one of my visits to the Main Library of the Vienna Libraries, on the short walk from the section with the graphic novels and photo books to the shelves with the DVDs: I actually see a lemon lying on the floor in front of an armchair! I wait briefly, waiting to see if someone will sit down again, who may have put the lemon down as an avatar, as a placeholder. But then I quickly went and photographed the marvellous object/room situation from the positions and angles prescribed in the commandments of the Eternal Archive: across the corner, frontally well aligned with sufficient space all around and detail. On closer inspection, however, I realised that one end of the lemon was already a little soft and beginning to rot – after a brief hesitation, I courageously threw the precious fruit into the nearest safety waste bin.
I can’t write enough praise about libraries and bookshops, especially the libraries in Vienna: A bastion of freely accessible knowledge and distraction. Incredibly good. I regularly commute to these places of diversity almost every day: the main library on Urban-Loritz-Platz (photo books, art books, graphic novels and DVDs), the library on Hormayergasse – with a sensational focus on graphic novels!!! Yesterday Schwendergasse library (three DVDs). Also very good Philadelphiabrücke library etc. etc.
