Buddhas Hand, die Erscheinung des kleinen Buddha und die Friedenspagode. Vandans, Wien | AT · 2010–2022 (© PP · # 2601 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Am vergangenen Samstag wollte ich mir im Volxtheater in der Margaretenstraße die Premiere des von der Choreographin und Regisseurin Christine Gaigg inszenierten Stücks „Rote Sonne“ nach dem gleichnamigen Film von Rudolf Thome aus 1970 anschauen. Ausverkauft, gab auch keine Restkarten, schaue ich mir an einem der nächsten Termine an. Zurück mit dem Fahrrad in mein nahe gelegenes Studio im Werkstatt-Hof, sehe ich in der Ecke vor dem Eingangstor am Boden eine kleine Buddha-Statue (gr. Foto links). Stelle mein Rad so ab, dass die Lampe die Figurine spotlightmäßig anleuchtet, klopfe mit der Hand kurz drauf, klingt metallen, vermutlich nicht massiv Gold, aber jedenfalls kein Styropor oä. Wer hat die hingestellt? Was macht die da? Eine kleine Buddha-Statue hockt in der Ecke, während Krieg ist, Menschen zerfetzt und Städte zerstört, Gasleitungen und Brücken gesprengt werden und keiner von uns weiß, wie sich dieses Inferno weiter entwickeln wird. Ich hab die Statue natürlich stehen gelassen, mir ist anschließend die Friedenspagode an der Donau eingefallen (gr. Foto re. und obere Reihe). Beim Suchen in der Datenbank sind unter dem Stichwort „Buddha“ auch die Fotos der Zitronenart „Buddhas Hand“ aufgetaucht, die ich vor 12 Jahren in Vandans in Vorarlberg gesehen und fotografiert hatte. Gestern war die kleine Buddhastatue nicht mehr am Boden in der Ecke vor dem Eingangstor. Weitergewandert.

Back by bike to my nearby studio in the workshop courtyard, I see a small Buddha statue on the ground in the corner in front of the entrance gate (large photo on the left). Set my bike down in such a way that the lamp illuminates the figurine like a spotlight, tap it briefly with your hand, it sounds metallic, probably not solid gold, but certainly not styrofoam or anything similar. Who put it there? What is she doing there? A small Buddha statue crouches in the corner while there is war, people are torn to shreds and cities destroyed, gas lines and bridges are blown up and none of us knows how this inferno will continue to develop. Of course I left the statue standing, and then I thought of the Peace Pagoda on the Danube (large photo right and top row). When searching in the database, the photos of the lemon species “Buddha’s Hand” appeared under the keyword “Buddha”, which I had seen and photographed 12 years ago in Vandans in Vorarlberg. Yesterday the small Buddha statue was no longer on the ground in the corner in front of the entrance gate. moved on.
