Best of Bad Ischl – Das Ewige Archiv präsentiert die Kulturhauptstadt 2024! Bad Ischl | AT · 1964–2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Da Bad Ischl ja gemeinsam mit 20 anderen Gemeinden des Salzkammerguts Kulturhauptstadt Europas 2024 wird, sieht sich Das Ewige Archiv natürlich in der Pflicht und stellt sich der Herausforderung, das „Herz des Salzkammergutes“ in mehreren Tranchen vorzustellen. Immerhin ist der Direktor, also der Autor dieser Zeilen, also ich dort ins Gymnasium gegangen, das als kleines Privatgymnasium zunächst in einer größeren Villa untergebracht war (SW-Foto links ob.). Einige Klassen höher auch Jörg Haider, bei dem sich damals schon seine Berufung für Größeres abzeichnete (ua. gewann er einen außerschulischen Redewettbewerb mit dem Thema „Warum Österreich Teil der Deutschen Nation ist“). Bad Ischl war jedenfalls der Ort meiner ersten großen Liebe und folgendem tiefem Schmerz („Ich weiß nicht, ob ich Dich WIRKLICH liebe!“), hier sah ich meinen ersten geöffneten Bankomaten (gr. Foto li.), musste einer Vielzahl von Plastiklöwen begegnen, die in der gesamten Stadt verteilt waren. Ohne Einschränkung kann ich die Haustorte der Konditorei Zauner empfehlen (re. unt.) – ex aequo mit der Kaisertorte. Die Kaiservilla ist rechts oben – und ein Besuch des Photomuseums im Kaiserpark wird dringend angeraten.

Best of Bad Ischl – The Eternal Archive presents the Capital of Culture 2024! Bad Ischl | AT · 1964-2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Since Bad Ischl and 20 other municipalities of the Salzkammergut become European Capital of Culture 2024, the Eternal Archive sees itself as obligatory and faces the challenge of being the “heart of the Salzkammergut” to present several tranches. After all, the director, so the author of these lines, so I went there to high school, which was housed as a small private high school initially in a larger villa (SW photo left ob.). Jörg Haider, in which he already had his vocation for greater things (eg, he won an extracurricular speech contest on the topic “Why Austria is part of the German nation”), also had some classes higher. Bad Ischl was certainly the place of my first great love and the following deep pain (“I do not know if I REALLY love you!”), Here I saw my first opened ATM (large photo left), had to meet a variety of plastic lions that were distributed throughout the city. Without restriction, I can recommend the home of the pastry Zauner (re. Unt.) – Ex aequo with the Kaisertorte. The Kaiservilla is on the top right – and a visit to the Photomuseum in the Kaiserpark is strongly advised.
