Wien | AT · 2002–2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Das große Foto links zeigt ein Detail: „ANKER Bäckerei Sackerl“, 1970–1981, Fundstelle 3, die knappe Beschriftung in der kleinen Ausstellung im Palais Epstein am Ring über die Restaurierungs-Arbeiten des Palais und einige Aspekte der Besatzung und Nachkriegszeit in Wien. Das Palais Epstein war der ursprüngliche Vorschlag für den Standort des „Hauses der Geschichte“.

Oben Mitte ist der Originalschriftzug auf der „Ankerbrot-Fabrik“ in der Absberggasse im 10. Bezirk in Wien zu sehen.

„Anfang 2009 kaufte die Loft City GmbH & Co KG stillgelegte Teile der Fabriksgebäude und bewahrte diese vor dem Abriss. "In unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zur noch bestehenden Produktion der Ankerbrot AG entsteht ... auf zirka 17.000 der insgesamt 68.000 Quadratmeter (Geschoßfläche) der Ankerbrotfabrik das neue Kulturareal Brotfabrik Wien mit multifunktionalen Hallen, Galerien, Ateliers, Schauräumen, Büros, Lofts und Gastronomieeinrichtungen.“ (wiki)

Das große Foto rechts zeigt das Display der „Smart-Steuerung“ eines dieser Lofts – hier können eine Vielzahl von Funktionen wie Beleuchtung, Verdunkelung, Heizung, Security etc gesteuert werden.

Ankerbrot

„Die Ankerbrot GmbH & Co KG ist der bedeutendste Backwarenhersteller in Österreich. Das Unternehmen wurde 1891 in Wien gegründet und hat hier nach wie vor seine Produktionsanlagen. Das Unternehmen besitzt in Österreich rund 115 Filialen, die meisten davon in Wien und Umgebung. Ankerbrot beschäftigt rund 1.300 Mitarbeiter (Stand: 2015).

Mit 1. Juli 1891gründeten die jüdischen Brüder Heinrich (1855–1917)und Fritz Mendl (1864–1929) die Wiener Brot- und Gebäck-Fabrik von Heinrich & Fritz Mendl auf dem Laaer Berg an der Absberggasse 35 im 10. Wiener Gemeindebezirk, Favoriten. Der Standort auf dem Berg war deshalb gewählt worden, damit von dort aus die für die Auslieferung schwer beladenen Pferdefuhrwerke bequemer ausfahren konnten. Als Markenzeichen des Unternehmens wählten die Gebrüder Mendl 1893 den Anker, der für Sicherheit und Vertrauen stehen sollte. Das später verwendete Firmenlogo bestand aus dem Ankersymbol und den mittig eingefügten Initialen „HFM“ . . .“ (wiki)

The Palais Epstein was the original proposal for the location of the “House of History”.
At the top center is the original lettering on the “Ankerbrot factory” in the Absberggasse in the 10th district in Vienna.
“At the beginning of 2009, Loft City GmbH & Co KG bought out of stock parts of the factory buildings and saved them from demolition. “In close proximity to the still existing production of Ankerbrot AG … the new cultural area Brotfabrik Wien with multifunctional halls, galleries, studios, showrooms, offices, lofts and catering facilities is being built on approx. 17,000 of the 68,000 square meters (floor area) of the Ankerbrotfabrik.” ( wiki)

“Ankerbrot GmbH & Co KG is the most important bakery manufacturer in Austria. The company was founded in Vienna in 1891 and still has its production facilities here. The company owns around 115 branches in Austria, most of them in Vienna and the surrounding area. Ankerbrot employs around 1,300 people (as of 2015).
On July 1, 1891, the Jewish brothers Heinrich (1855-1917) and Fritz Mendl (1864-1929) founded the Viennese bread and pastry factory of Heinrich & Fritz Mendl on the Laaer Berg at Absberggasse 35 in Vienna’s 10th district, Favoriten , The location on the mountain was therefore chosen so that from there, the heavily loaded for delivery of horse-drawn vehicles could extend more comfortable. As a trademark of the company, the Mendl brothers chose the anchor in 1893, which should stand for safety and trust.
