Wieder mal – so beiläufig – die Sonntagsfrage stellen: Wozu das alles? Amsterdam | NL; Brussel/Bruxelles | BE; London | UK; Montréal | CA; Wien | AT · 2009–2026 (© PP · # 3763 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Habe ich die „richtigen Fragen“ gestellt? Habe ich mir irgendeine sinnvolle Antwort gegeben? Irgendetwas geklärt? In gewisser Weise ist für mich ein Zitat der großen französischen Filmregisseurin Agnès Varda eine Orientierung:

„Man muss den Dingen eine Form, eine Ordnung geben können, um sie besser zu verstehen, und das ist es auch, was man tut, wenn man einen Film macht oder anders künstlerisch tätig ist: Man versucht, zumindest temporär, eine Ordnung einzuführen und ein oder zwei Fragen auf diese Weise zu klären – weil man das chaotische Ganze ohnehin nicht erfassen kann. Ich glaube, das ist eine Art, um die Unordnung, in der wir leben oder als die wir die Welt empfinden, auszuhalten.“

Once again—almost casually—asking the Sunday question: What’s the point of all this? Amsterdam | NL; Brussels | BE; London | UK; Montreal | CA; Vienna | AT · 2009–2026 (© PP · # 3763 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Did I ask the „right questions“? Did I give myself any meaningful answers? Did I clarify anything? In a way, a quote from the great French film director Agnès Varda serves as a guide for me:

„You have to be able to give things a form, an order, in order to understand them better, and that’s what you do when you make a film or are otherwise artistically active: You try, at least temporarily, to introduce an order and clarify one or two questions in this way—because you can’t grasp the chaotic whole anyway. I think it’s a way of enduring the disorder in which we live, or as we perceive the world to be.“
