Woronara Staudamm in der Nähe von Sydney revisited! After all those years! Da lacht das Herz des kleinen Ewigen Archivars! Australien 1958–2021 (SW-Foto © N.N. · Recherche: Helmut S. · Farb-Fotos: © Google Inc.; Sky · Tableau © PP · # 2177 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Das große SW-Foto hat ein Auswanderer nach Australien in den 1950-er Jahren in seine „alte Heimat“ in Oberösterreich geschickt – vermutlich bei einem Ausflug zu einem Staudamm. Ich selbst bin zwar ein begeisterter „Schauer“ und Sammler – aber ich wäre nicht imstande, den Aufnahmeort herauszufinden. Nachdem allerdings gestern der bildende Künstler, Musiker und Videomacher Helmut S. (von dem ich annehme, dass er „im Netz möglichst wenig Spuren hinterlassen will“) den Aufnahmeort eines ebenfalls in den 1950-er Jahren aufgenommenen Fotos einer Kreuzung in Adelaide herausgefunden und „aktuelle“ Fotos geschickt hatte, habe ich mich an ihn gewandt mit der Frage, ob er den Staudamm finden könnte. Tatsächlich – zu meiner großen Freude schrieb er „…also es ist wahrscheinlich der Woronora Damm nahe Sydney, wo es ein paar Dämme gibt, und dieser dürfte eigentlich der unscheinbarste sein – wenn man vom vorhandenen Bildmaterial ausgeht“ und schickte die hier eingearbeiteten Farb-Fotos. Ich bin jedenfalls total begeistert – und das an einem Freitag, den 13.!

I myself am an avid “shiver” and collector – but I would not be able to find out where the photo was taken. After yesterday, however, the visual artist, musician and video maker Helmut S. (of whom I assume that he “wants to leave as few traces as possible on the Internet”) found the location of a photo of an intersection in Adelaide, also taken in the 1950s, and “ I sent him the latest “photos, asking if he could find the dam. Indeed – to my great joy he wrote “… well, it is probably the Woronora dam near Sydney, where there are a few dams, and this should actually be the most inconspicuous – if you start from the available image material” and sent the color photos incorporated here . Anyway, I’m totally thrilled – and that on a Friday the 13th!
