Wohnbauten in Simmering. Wien | AT · 1977 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) In der Gegend nach dem Zentralfriedhof (li. unten) stadtauswärts entstanden in den 1970-er Jahren zahlreiche neue Gemeindebauten. Die Aufnahmen dieses Tableaus stammen vom Jänner 1977 – in dieser Zeit arbeitete ich ein Mal wöchentlich abends im Jugendzentrum 11 in der Pantucekgasse. Das Jugendzentrum befand – und befindet sich noch heute – in der „Bunten Schule“ (rechts im oberen Foto). An „meinen“ Abenden entstanden dort kurze Normal-8 Filme, wurden Sitzblöcke für die Disco gemalt uvm. (s. früherer Postings). Die neuen Wohnsiedlungen der Gemeinde Wien hatten mich seit meines Studiums der Architektur beschäftigt. Exkursionen – zB. der Großfeldsiedlung – im Rahmen von Grundseminaren waren ausschlaggebend, dass ich das Architekturstudium abbrach – offensichtlich war ich damals der Meinung, ich müsse die Probleme der neuen Wohnsiedlungen ganz alleine lösen ;-) – und in Folge die Sozialakademie besuchte, in der Hoffnung, mehr „von der Basis“ zu erfahren. Nachdem mich die Sozialarbeit zwar sehr interessierte, aber mich auch noch weitere Bereiche interessierten, war ich in Folge bzw. parallel Gasthörer an der Filmakademie, studierte Japanisch und landete schließlich auf der Angewandten. Die Suche ging und geht weiter . .

Residential buildings in Simmering. Vienna | AT · 1977 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Numerous new municipal buildings were built in the area after the central cemetery (below left) out of town in the 1970s. The recordings of this tableau date from January 1977 – during this time I worked once a week in the evening in the youth center 11 in the Pantucekgasse. The youth center was – and still is today – in the “colorful school” (on the right in the photo above). On “my” evenings there were short normal-8 films, chairs were painted for the disco and much more. (see previous postings). The new housing estates of the municipality of Vienna had occupied me since my studies of architecture. Excursions – eg. the Großfeldsiedlung – in the context of basic seminars were crucial that I broke off the study of architecture – obviously I was then the opinion, I had to solve the problems of the new housing estates all alone 😉 – and subsequently visited the Social Academy, hoping to find more ” from the base “. After being very interested in social work, but also interested in other areas, I was in a row or parallel guest student at the Film Academy, studied Japanese and finally landed on the Angewandte. The search went on and still continues.
