Wien | AT · 2012–2019 (© PP · www.ewigesarchiv.at) „Wir sind das Museum der Wiener und Wienerinnen, wir haben viele Touristen hier und das freut uns natürlich, aber das Gros unserer Besucher und Besucherinnen sind die Stadtbewohner und das ist eine große Aufgabe, weil im Gegensatz zu anderen Museen – hauptsächlich beruhen die Bundesmuseen auf den habsburgischen Sammlungen – ist diese Sammlung, dieses Museum immer ein städtisches gewesen, immer eines, das die Bürger und Bürgerinnen dieser Stadt ermöglicht haben und das natürlich diese Stadt auch reflektiert. Diese Möglichkeit, hier ins Museum zu kommen und auf seine Lebensrealität einen neuen Blick zu werfen, ist eines meiner großen Anliegen!“ meint Matti Bunzl, der Direktor des Wien Museums im Video „Das Ewige Archiv – ordnen und geordnet werden“, in dem es unter anderem um die Funktionen und möglichen Bedeutungen von Sammeln und Erinnerung geht. Matti Bunzl zwischen Patrick Spanbauer, On Screen und mir bei den Dreharbeiten) Im großartigen Atrium des Wien Museums habe ich im Jahr 2012 mein Buch „Das Ewige Archiv – Heavy Duty XS“ im Rahmen einer Ausstellung von Tableaux präsentiert (gr. Foto links) – für mich ist es nicht nur deshalb eines der mir wichtigsten und nächsten Museen im Zentrum der Stadt.

Der Bau von Oswald Haerdtl aus den 1950-er Jahren wird derzeit umfangreich umgebaut und erweitert. Die Fotos, entstanden vor dem Beginn des Umbaus, zeigen eine Skulptur von Werner Feiersinger vor dem Museum (li. unt.) und die Eröffnung der Ausstellung „TAKE OVER“, bei der das Wien Museum vor dem Beginn des Umbaus von Street- und Graffiti-Artists „übernommen“ wurde: Matti Bunzl (li.), Kuratorinnen Christine Koblitz und Kollegin.
