Die Weltbeschrifter. Paris | FR; Toskana | IT; Wien | AT · 2002–2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Namenserfinder bei IKEA habe ich von Zeit zu Zeit als Traumberuf ponderiert (möglicherweise etwas sarkastisch, so wie ich mich kenne). Wie kommt die „Welt“ zu ihren Worten und Begriffen? Es ist ja eher selten, dass bei einem „Baum“ das Schild „Baum“ mitwächst und auf dem Motorrad steht vermutlich am Ende des Fließbandes nicht automatisch „Majesty“ oder „Leonardo“. Das Anbringen eines geplotteten Firmenschriftzuges an der Außenseite eines Geschäftes auf der Mariahilferstraße dauert mit einem Steiger nicht einmal eine Stunde (ob. Mitte). Wer beschriftet aber nun „wirklich“ die Welt? Wer KANN die Welt beschriften? Wem gehört der Luftraum, wer hat Macht über meinen Seh- und Lebensbereich, wer kann ihn mit riesigen Schriftzügen, Giga- und Mega-Boards zudröhnen? Der neue Besitzer des Hauses, in dem ich jahrelang gewohnt hatte und nach Besitzerwechsel schlussendlich ausziehen musste, der hat sein Kapital damit verdient, dass er in einem der Nachbarländer Bus-Wartehäuschen mit Werbetafeln aufgestellt hat bzw. deutlicher formuliert: Werbetafeln, bei denen halt zwangsläufig ein Warte-Unterstand dabei sein musste. Schließlich wurde seine Werbetafel-Kette von einem französischen Werbeunternehmen gekauft – und er hatte das Problem: Wohin mit der Kohle? Ich hab’s ihm genauso gesagt: „Jetzt MÜSSEN Sie natürlich irgendwo die viele Kohle parken und Häuser kaufen!“ – worauf er fein geschmunzelt und mit dem Kopf genickt hat. Er wollte natürlich so schnell als möglich alle Mieter*innen draußen haben, das Haus umbauen und in Folge die Wohnungen verklopfen. Wir haben uns dann halt außergerichtlich irgendwie geeinigt und die Wohnung, in der ich jahrzehntelang gewohnt hatte, wurde dann vom neuen Hausbesitzer um 750.000 Euro verkauft. Also vom Weltbeschriften in den obszönen Immobilien-Kapitalmarkt – so schnell kanns gehen.

How does the “world” come to its words and concepts? It is rather rare, that with a “tree” grows the sign “tree” and on the bike is probably not at the end of the assembly line automatically “Majesty” or “Leonardo”. Placing a plotted company logo on the outside of a shop on the Mariahilferstraße takes less than an hour with a lift (whether in the middle). But who now “really” labels the world? Who CAN label the world? Who owns the airspace, who has power over my vision and life area, who can call it with huge lettering, giga and mega boards? The new owner of the house, in which I had lived for years and finally had to move out after changing ownership, has earned his capital by setting up bus shelters with billboards in one of the neighboring countries, or by putting it more clearly: billboards, in which inevitably a waiting shelter had to be there. Finally, his billboard chain was bought by a French advertising company – and he had the problem: where to go with the coal? I told him the same thing: “Now of course you MUST park some coal and buy houses!” – whereupon he smiled and nodded his head. Of course he wanted to have all the tenants outside as soon as possible, rebuild the house and knock the flats in succession. We then sorted out of court somehow agreed and the apartment in which I had lived for decades, was then sold by the new homeowner for 750,000 euros. So from world labeling in the obscene real estate capital market – it can go so fast.
