„Seit den frühen 1990er-Jahren erforscht Wolfgang Tillmans unseren Blick auf die Welt und die gesellschaftlichen Verhältnisse, in denen wir leben. Geleitet von der selbstkritischen Frage „What do I really see? What do I see, and what do I want to see? What is in the picture?“ widmet er sich Menschen und Körpern, Landschaften, Architekturen, Gegenständen und Himmelserscheinungen.

Wolfgang Tillmans. Schall ist flüssig beinhaltet frühe Fotografien, die im popkulturellen Umfeld der 1990er-Jahre entstanden, abstrakte Bilder, hochauflösende Aufnahmen der von Globalisierung und Digitalisierung geprägten Realität des frühen 21. Jahrhunderts sowie Fotografien, die kurz vor und während der Corona-Pandemie aufgenommen wurden. Zudem werden die 2-Kanal-Videoinstallation Book for Architects sowie eine Vielzahl neuer Musik- und Videoarbeiten zu sehen sein“ (mumok)

“Since the early 1990s, Wolfgang Tillmans has been researching our view of the world and the social conditions in which we live. Guided by the self-critical question “What do I really see? What do I see, and what do I want to see? What is in the picture?” he devotes himself to people and bodies, landscapes, architecture, objects and celestial phenomena.

Wolfgang Tilmans. Sound is Liquid includes early photographs taken in the pop culture environment of the 1990s, abstract images, high-resolution images of the reality of the early 21st century shaped by globalization and digitization, and photographs taken shortly before and during the Corona pandemic. In addition, the 2-channel video installation Book for Architects and a variety of new music and video works will be on display” (mumok)
