Was ich möglicherweise verstehen sollte, aber nicht verstehen will. Bolzano | IT; NN | US · 2011–2025 (obere Reihe © PP; unten: irgendwelche Screenshots © NN; # 3576 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Was ich nicht verstehen WILL: Wie wichtig das für den Fortschritt der Menschheit und für die Zukunft und für die Entwicklung der Technologien ist, riesige, mit Trillionen Litern von hochgiftigem, hochexplosivem Treibstoff gefüllte Raketen zu zünden und in den Weltraum zu schießen, zu testen, immer wieder zu testen (klar – ohne Fehlschläge keine Einschläge), in Folge dann weitere zehntausende „Starlink“-Satelliten in Umlauf zu bringen, weitere Spionage- und Überwachungs-Satelliten in Position zu bringen, vornehmlich Waffen und Drohnen in der Umlaufbahn zu stationieren? Welche Konzerne, Personen, Aktienbesitzer*innen profitieren davon? Welche Staaten demonstrieren ihre Macht? Wie werden die Massen fasziniert und abgelenkt? Was passiert parallel zum größten Raketenstart der Geschichte? Wie ist der Stand der Katastrophe im Gaza-Streifen? Wieviele Frauen und Kinder werden im Congo vergewaltigt, missbraucht und ermordet? Der Krieg in der Ukraine? Situation im Sudan? Völliger Irrsinn – ich brauche keine Raketen zum Mars, sicher nicht.

Fotos oben: Eine Replik des „Ötzi“, des Mannes aus dem Eis im Südtiroler Archäologiemuseum in Bolzano/Boten, Italien. Was der wohl über die Situation heute auf der Erde denken würde? Er hat vor etwa 5.300 Jahren gelebt. Gestern hat mir Gerhard Hinterleitner, gemeinsam mit Peter Kurz Betreiber des cyberlab, erzählt, dass er 1991, als die Leiche des Mannes entdeckt wurde, mit dem Zug nach Innsbruck gefahren ist, um für die Bildagentur CONTRAST, die beide damals betrieben haben, den Fund zu fotografieren. Seine damals entstandenen Fotos – damals noch auf Diafilm – wurden weltweit veröffentlicht.

Bolzano | IT; NN | US · 2011–2025 (top row © PP; below: some screenshots © NN; # 3576 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) What I DON’T WANT to understand: How important it is for the progress of humanity, for the future, and for the development of technology, to ignite huge rockets filled with trillions of liters of highly toxic, highly explosive fuel and shoot them into space, to test them, to test them again and again (of course – no failures, no impacts), and then to subsequently put tens of thousands more „Starlink“ satellites into orbit, to position more spy and surveillance satellites, and to station primarily weapons and drones in orbit? Which corporations, individuals, and shareholders benefit from this? Which states demonstrate their power? How are the masses fascinated and distracted? What is happening parallel to the largest rocket launch in history? What’s the status of the catastrophe in the Gaza Strip? How many women and children are being raped, abused, and murdered in Congo? The war in Ukraine? The situation in Sudan? Absolute insanity—I don’t need rockets to Mars, certainly not.

He lived about 5,300 years ago. Yesterday, Gerhard Hinterleitner, who runs the cyberlab together with Peter Kurz, told me that in 1991, when the man’s body was discovered, he took the train to Innsbruck to photograph the discovery for the CONTRAST photo agency, which they both ran at the time. The photos he took at the time—still on slide film—were published worldwide.
