Shopping macht happy! Gut ausschauen auf Überwachungs-Fotos! Amsterdam | NL; Wien | AT · 1973–2020 (Fotos: ©: Surveillance Inc. Monitorfotos: © PP · Ewiges Archiv) Ich finde, es ist ein Gebot der Höflichkeit, den Mitarbeiter*innen der Überwachungsfirmen bzw. Konzernen gegenüber auf Überwachungsmonitoren bzw. Videos so gut als eben möglich auszuschauen. Ich jedenfalls bemühe mich immer um einen einigermaßen sozialverträglichen Zustand, schaue, dass ich gut daherkomme. Denn: Diese Fotos bzw. eben Videoaufzeichnungen werden mich überleben (vorausgesetzt, die Betreiber*innen haben eine zeitgemäße Datenspeicherung natürlich.

Früher war’s etwas einfacher. Das Foto links oben zeigt einen Überwachungsspiegel im Kaufhaus „Stafa“ („Ach herrjee! Gibt’s auch nimmer, soo schaade!“) in der Nähe des Westbahnhofes auf der Mariahilferstraße, das ich etwa 1973 aufgenommen habe. (Die Spiegelreflexkameras waren immer so laut, da wars etwas schwieriger in Geschäften zu fotografieren). Jedenfalls konnte ich dort gleich den Sitz der Krawatte überprüfen.

Monitor photos: © PP · Eternal Archives) I think it is an imperative to be polite to watch the employees of the surveillance companies or corporations on surveillance monitors or videos as well as possible possible to look. In any case, I always try to be in a reasonably socially acceptable condition, make sure that I come along well. Because: These photos or video recordings will survive me (provided the operators have modern data storage, of course. It used to be a little easier. The photo above on the left shows a surveillance mirror in the “Stafa” department store (“Oh dear! There’s no, it’s a shame!”) Near the Westbahnhof on Mariahilferstraße, which I took around 1973. (The SLR cameras were always so loud that it was a bit more difficult to take pictures in shops). In any case, I was able to check the fit of the tie there. So: Let’s make a friendly face! Helau!
