„Tanzt, tanzt, sonst sind wir verloren!“ (Pina Bausch), Capoeira spätnachts am Karlsplatz und ein Hinweis auf ein Musik-/Tanzvideo, das ich saugeil finde! Amsterdam | NL; Paris | FR; Wien | AT · 1990–2022 (© PP · # 3768 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Ich liebe Tanz und tanzen – aber Auslöser für dieses Tableau ist das Musicvideo „GENER8ION - STORM starring Yung Lean“, das ich sicher schon vier oder fünfmal angeschaut habe, weil ich die Choreographie der Tanzszenen so unglaublich gut finde – insbesondere die durchgehend mit 16 mm gefilmte, etwa 3 minütige Schlussszene (ab etwa 04:16 für Ungeduldige – aber das gesamte Video ist sehr sehenswert).

Das SW-Foto links habe ich 1990 bei einer Vorführung eines arabischen Tanzes in Paris aufgenommen, das große Foto rechts zeigt einen Moment bei der Graduation Show 2022 der Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, bei der eine Studentin eine Techno-Performance als Abschlussarbeit tanzte, die Fotoreihe oben und die Bilder links bzw. rechts unten nahm ich spätnachts am 24. August 2010 bei einer Capoeira-Session am Karlsplatz auf, die mich begeisterte in ihrer Mischung aus Kampf, Akrobatik und dem Wechsel von Distanz und Nähe, das Bild unten zeigt eine Gruppe von auf der Straße tanzenden Frauen auf der Gumpendorferstraße, 2019.

Amsterdam | NL; Paris | FR; Vienna | AT · 1990–2022 (© PP · # 3768 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) I love dance and dancing – but the trigger for this tableau is the music video “GENER8ION – STORM starring Yung Lean,” which I’ve probably watched four or five times because I find the choreography of the dance scenes so incredibly good – especially the approximately 3-minute final scene, filmed entirely in 16mm (starting at around 4:16 for the impatient – but the entire video is well worth watching).

The black and white photo on the left was taken in 1990 at a performance of an Arabic dance in Paris; the large photo on the right shows a moment at the 2022 Graduation Show of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, where a student performed a techno piece as her final project; the series of photos above and the images on the left and right below were taken late at night on August 24, 2010, at a Capoeira session at Karlsplatz, which fascinated me with its mix of combat, acrobatics, and the interplay of distance and proximity; the image below shows a group of women dancing in the street on Gumpendorferstraße in 2019.
