Süße Täuschung – Deep Fakes: Sweet Dreams Are My Reality. Bad Ischl, Wien | AT · 2021–2022 (AI-Portraits © N.N. © PP · # 2764 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Nicht, dass mich das wirklich überrascht hätte, aber in dieser unverblümten Klarheit war diese Nachricht ein Schlag in die Magengrube frühmorgens: „Die US-Regierung plant, Deepfake-Videos in Online-Propaganda- und Täuschungskampagnen einzusetzen. Laut einem am Montag von The Intercept veröffentlichten Bericht enthüllen Beschaffungsdokumente, dass das United States Special Operations Command bald Deepfake-Technologie bei Operationen zur Einflussnahme im Internet einsetzen könnte. Die Dokumente skizzieren die Ziele des Special Operations Commandos, Deepfake-Technologien für Einflussoperationen, digitale Täuschung, Kommunikationsunterbrechung und Desinformationskampagnen auf taktischer und operativer Ebene“ zu beschaffen.“ (Originalmeldung s.u., AI-übersetzt) Meldungen, dass eine Reihe von Regierungen bereits durch AI (Artificial Intelligence) und Deep Fake-Software erstellte Videos zur Täuschung in Umlauf gebracht haben, kursieren bereits seit einiger Zeit.

Die „Portraits“ bzw. „Selbstportraits“ von mir ließ ich nur mittels Texteingabe in eine AI-Software erstellen – ich habe eine AI-Application (AI = Artificial Intelligence) „gebeten“, ein Portrait von mir nur durch Texteingabe zu erstellen. Das linke Foto der beiden größeren „Portraits“auf der rechten Seite ist ein Facetime-Screenshot von mir, war aber nicht die Vorlage dafür, sondern ist hier nur zum Vergleich gegenüber gestellt.

Das einzige, was an diesem Tableau „analog und real“ ist, sind die täuschend echt nachgemachten Süßigkeiten und Eisspezialitäten, die ich im Schaufenster der Konditorei Zauner in Bad Ischl fotografiert habe: Sweet Deep Fakes?

Procurement documents reveal that the United States Special Operations Command may soon be using deepfake technology in internet influence operations, according to a report published by The Intercept on Monday. The documents outline the Special Operations Commando’s goals of procuring deepfake technologies for influence operations, digital deception, communications disruption, and disinformation campaigns at the tactical and operational levels (Artificial Intelligence) and Deep Fake software have been circulating deception videos for some time.
I only had my “portraits” or “self-portraits” created by entering text into AI software – I “asked” an AI application (AI = artificial intelligence) to create a portrait of me just by entering text. The photo on the left of the two larger “portraits” on the right is a Facetime screenshot of me, but it wasn’t the template for it, it’s only shown here for comparison.

The U.S. government is planning to use deepfake videos in online propaganda and deception campaigns. ccording to a report published on Monday by The Intercept, procurement documents reveal that the United States Special Operations Command may soon utilize deepfake technology in influence operations on the internet.

The documents outline Special Operations Command’s goals to procure deepfake “technologies for influence operations, digital deception, communication disruption, and disinformation campaigns at the tactical edge and operational levels.”
