Stoppt den Krieg! Wien | AT · 1991 (© PP · # 2385 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Weil schon wieder und immer noch „Krieg!“ gebrüllt wird, „Krieg“ auf den Wänden und im Raum steht, einige Bilder der großen Anti-Golfkrieg-Demo im Jahr 1991 – inmitten Tausender auch die ehemalige Frauenministerin Johanna Dohnal (gr. Foto re.) und Peter Pilz (ob., 2. v. li.). Es scheint, als könne nichts und niemand „Krieg“ und willentliches Töten, Umbringen, Verletzen, Zerstören stoppen. Bei den kürzlich verscannten Negativen waren auch 31 SW-Foto dabei, die ich vor über 30 Jahren bei einer Demonstration gegen den Golfkrieg aufgenommen hatte – wie immer wieder war auch die engagierte Frauenministerin Johanna Dohnal dabei, auch Peter Pilz entdeckte ich auf den Bildern. Sonst noch: hitzige Pro- und Kontra-Diskussionen (li. unt.), ein eher lockerer Polizeikordon (unten), darunter damals keine Polizistinnen und im Verhältnis zu Demos, die ich in Paris ein Jahr vorher dokumentierte hatte, erstaunlich wenig martialisch ausgerüstet. Auch damals natürlich: Video- und Fotodokumentation der Demo durch die Polizei (re. unt.)

Jetzt und immer: Stoppt jeden Krieg.

Vienna | AT · 1991 (© PP · # 2385 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Because “War!” is being shouted again and again, “War” is written on the walls and in the room, some pictures of the big anti-Gulf War demo in the Year 1991 – in the midst of thousands also the former Minister for Women Johanna Dohnal (large photo right) and Peter Pilz (top, 2nd from left). It seems that nothing and nobody can stop “war” and willful killing, killing, injuring, destroying. The recently scanned negatives also included 31 black and white photos that I took more than 30 years ago at a demonstration against the Gulf War – as always, the dedicated women’s minister Johanna Dohnal was there, and I also discovered Peter Pilz in the pictures. Otherwise: heated pros and cons discussions (bottom left), a rather loose police cordon (bottom), including no female police officers at the time and surprisingly little martial equipment in relation to demos that I had documented in Paris a year earlier. Also back then, of course: video and photo documentation of the demo by the police (bottom right).

Now and always: Stop every war.
