Paul Gauguin, Die Bretonin, 1888 – eine Dauerleihgabe der Thomas Kirch Stiftung SbR, München. FR; Wien | AT · 1888–2025 (© PP · # 3422 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Am Nachmittag des letzten Tages der Ausstellung „Gauguin unexpected“ ins Kunstforum Wien der Bank Austria bzw des italienischen Unicredit-Konzerns (der das Kunstforum jetzt schließen will) gefahren und einige schnelle Skizzen gezeichnet. Heute beim Zusammenstellen dieses Tableaus etwas genauer die beigestellte Bildbeschriftung gelesen und mit Erstaunen festgestellt, dass das wunderbare Portrait einer Bretonin Eigentum der Thomas Kirch Stiftung ist. Thomas Kirch ist der Sohn des (früheren) Medienmoguls Leo Kirch.

FR; Vienna | AT – 1888-2025 (© PP – # 3422 – www.ewigesarchiv.at) On the afternoon of the last day of the exhibition ‘Gauguin unexpected’, I travelled to the Kunstforum Wien of Bank Austria and the Italian Unicredit Group (which now wants to close the Kunstforum) and drew a few quick sketches. Today, while putting this tableau together, I read the accompanying caption a little more closely and was astonished to discover that the wonderful portrait of a Breton woman is the property of the Thomas Kirch Foundation. Thomas Kirch is the son of the (former) media mogul Leo Kirch.
