Mein Besuch im Motorrad-Museum – ein Erlebnisaufsatz kurz vor Schulbeginn. Vorchdorf | AT · 2019 (© PP · Ewiges Archiv) Also dann: Mein 14-jähriger Neffe ist begeisterter Mopedfahrer (halt abseits der Straße – den Mopedführerschein gibt’s erst ab 15), hat vor kurzem bei seinem Puch-Moped (Bj. 1980 oder so) den 50 ccm Zylinder gegen einen 70 ccm Zylinder (den er im Netz bestellt hatte) getauscht, jetzt geht’s aber nicht, weil das Gasseil gerissen ist oder so. Was lag also näher als ein Besuch im Motorrad-Museum Vorchdorf! Das MR-Museum liegt ziemlich außerhalb von Vorchdorf, eine schöne Strecke durch Felder, immer wieder den kleinen Wegweisern nach bis Peintal – dort, neben dem Gebäude der Fa. Amering Eiprodukte GmbH & Co, einer „Hühnerfarm“, liegt das Museum. Ein freundlicher Mitarbeiter begrüßt uns bereits in der Tür stehend – wir haben Glück: Ein Teil des Museums ist vor einigen Wochen abgebrannt – Schaden „eine Million!“, elektrischer Defekt im Dachstuhl die Ursache, wochenlange Renovierungs- und Reinigungsarbeiten in Folge – aber jetzt, erst seit dem Vortag: wieder geöffnet!! Weil nicht alle Motorräder am Platz sind, muss ich nur 7 statt 8 Euro Eintritt bezahlen, der Neffe kann gratis rein! Dicht gepackt: Maschine neben Maschine, Motor neben Motor, jeweils mit Texttafeln. Obwohl selbst kein Motor-/Maschinen-/Moped-Enthusiast: diese Ansammlung von teils historischem Motor- und Maschinen-Material, diese vielen Versuche, Elemente, Details – das hat was für sich. Gut, es ist ruhig im Gebäude, kein Start- und Fahrlärm, kein Geruch nach Öl, die Motorräder sind auf ihre Objekthaftigkeit reduziert, was mir ganz recht ist. „Bloße“ Objekte wie Stühle, Steine oder Schuhe, mit denen eben nicht (mehr) gegangen wird.

Ich frage abschließend den Mitarbeiter nach der Anzahl der Besucher – er meint, heute seien wir schon die zweiten Besucher – es gäbe Tage, an denen bis zu 30 kommen würden, dann aber auch welche, an denen nur 2 Besucher kommen. Beim Weggehen kaufe ich meinem Neffen (der begeistert war) noch einen Katalog um 4 Euro.

Was mir auch sehr gefallen hat: die verchromten Rahmen für die Landkarten auf dem Tank (li. ob.). Wirkliche Landkarten aus Papier!

Vorchdorf | AT · 2019 (© PP · Eternal Archives) So then: My 14-year-old nephew is an enthusiastic moped driver (just off the road – the moped driver’s license is only from 15), has recently on his Puch moped (1980 or so) the 50 cc cylinder against a 70 ccm cylinder (which he had ordered in the network) swapped, but now it’s not because the throttle part is cracked or something. So what was closer than a visit to Motorcycle Museum Vorchdorf! The MR Museum is located just outside of Vorchdorf, a beautiful route through fields, again and again the small signs to Peintal – there, next to the building of the Fa. Amering egg products GmbH & Co, a “chicken farm”, lies the museum. A friendly employee greets us already standing in the doorway – we’re lucky: a part of the museum burned down a few weeks ago – damage “a million!”, Electrical fault in the roof, the cause, weeks of renovation and cleaning work in a row – but now, only since the day before: reopened !! Because not all motorcycles are on the spot, I only have to pay 7 instead of 8 Euro admission, the nephew can enter for free! Tight packed: Machine next to machine, engine next to engine, each with text panels. Although not an engine / machine / moped enthusiast itself: this collection of partly historical engine and machine material, these many trials, elements, details – that has something to it. Well, it is quiet in the building, no start and driving noise, no smell of oil, the motorcycles are reduced to their objectivity, which is fine with me. “Bare” objects such as chairs, stones or shoes, which are just not (anymore) gone.
Finally, I ask the employee about the number of visitors – he says, today we are already the second visitors – there would be days, on which would come up to 30, but then also, where only 2 visitors come. On leaving, I buy my nephew (who was thrilled) still a catalog for 4 euros.
What I liked a lot: the chrome frame for the maps on the tank (left). Real paper maps!
