Juli 2025, bei der teils schwerbewaffnete Polizist:innen den Peršmanhof in Kärnten stürmten. Mit sieben Polizeifahrzeugen, einem Polizeihubschrauber, Drohnen und der Polizeihundestaffel hatten sich rund 30 Einsatzkräfte einen Weg zur Museums- und Gedenkstätte gebahnt, um dort eine Hausdurchsuchung im ehemaligen Wohnhaus der Familie Sadovnik vorzunehmen und die Identität der Anwesenden festzustellen. Die Anwesenden: Junge Erwachsene, Teilnehmende des Antifa Camps Kärnten/Koroška. Vor dem Bundesministerium für Inneres versammelten sich gestern, am 31. Juli 2025, überraschend viele Menschen, um die Erzählungen einiger Teilnehmer*innen des Antifa-Camps zu hören, die – teils schwer traumatisiert – berichteten, wie sie die Stürmung durch die Polizei erlebten. Die grotesk fadenscheinigen und lächerlichen Vorwände für die Stürmung: „wildes Campieren“ und „sittenwidriges Verhalten in der Öffentlichkeit“. „Ich war im Antifa-Camp und habe alles gesehen.
Die Polizei kam mitten in die Präsentation, die ich dieses Jahr für Antifa organisiert hatte. Es war eine Präsentation von Aktivist*innen aus der Ukraine und Weißrussland, die extra ins Antifa-Camp gekommen waren, um über ihre Kämpfe zu berichten. Für mich als russische Aktivistin im Exil, die vor Repressionen in ihrem Land fliehen musste, war es schockierend und abstoßend zu sehen, wie die österreichische Polizei die Antifa-Mitglieder genauso behandelte, wie die russische Polizei mich und ähnliche Ereignisse in Russland behandelt hatte. Mit ihrem aggressiven, provokativen und unhöflichen Verhalten traumatisierte die Polizei nicht nur die Menschen im Antifa-Camp, sondern verletzte und missachtete auch die Geschichte des Gedenkmuseums Peršmanhof und die Familien der Opfer des Massakers. Darüber hinaus retraumatisierten und missachteten sie Aktivisten aus der Ukraine, die täglich ihr Leben riskieren und unter russischen Bomben leiden. Sie retraumatisierten und missachteten Aktivisten aus Weißrussland, die politische Flüchtlinge in Europa sind und wie ich vor Diktatur und Repression fliehen mussten. Sie haben uns daran erinnert, warum wir aus unseren Ländern fliehen mussten und wie wir von der russischen und belarussischen Polizei mit Gewalt, Respektlosigkeit, Brutalität und Unehrlichkeit behandelt wurden. Können Sie sich vorstellen, wie es sich anfühlt, aus Ihrem Land zu fliehen, im europäischen Exil zu leben und der gleichen Repression ausgesetzt zu sein, vor der Sie geflohen sind? Aus einem Kriegsgebiet in die Europäische Union zu kommen, um über die Kämpfe der Menschen im aktuellen Krieg zu berichten und von der europäischen Polizei unterdrückt, gestört und eingeschüchtert zu werden? Als russische Aktivistin möchte ich die österreichische Gesellschaft warnen. Lassen Sie Polizei und Staat jetzt nicht damit durchkommen! Denn wenn sie jetzt damit durchkommen, werden die Repressionen noch schlimmer, hässlicher und gewalttätiger. Diese Repressionen, die es in der Anfangsphase gab, haben wir in Russland vor 10 Jahren erlebt, und jetzt sitzen Menschen im Gefängnis, weil sie Antikriegsbeiträge und antifaschistische Tweets verfasst haben, und sie sterben im Gefängnis und verbringen ihre Jahre damit, nur weil sie ihre Meinung gesagt haben. Lassen Sie nicht zu, dass dasselbe hier passiert. Wir müssen uns wehren. Ich denke, was im Peršmanhof passiert ist, ist ein historisches Ereignis. Während ich dort war, sprach ich mit der Polizei. ”I was in Antifa camp and I saw everything.
police came in the middle of the presentation that I have organized for Antifa this year and it was a presentation of activists from Ukraine and Belarus who came to Antifa camp specifically to share about their struggles. For me, as a Russian activist in exile who had to run from repressions in my country, it was shocking and disgusting to see how Austrian police treated people of Antifa the same way as Russian police used to treat me and our similar events in Russia. With their aggressive, provocative and rude behavior, police not only traumatized people of Antifa camp, they violated and disrespected the history of this memorial Peršmanhof -Museum and disrespected the family of the victims of the massacre. And on top of that, they retraumatized and disrespected activists from Ukraine who who risk their life and suffer from Russian bombs every day. They disrespected and retraumatized activists from Bellarus who is a political refugee in Europe and also like me had to run from dictatorship and repression. They made us remember why we had to run from our countries and how we were treated by Russian and Belarus police with all of violence, disrespect, brutality and dishonesty.
Can you imagine what it feels like to run away from your country, be in exile in Europe and face the same repression that you have run away from. to come to European Union from the war zone to tell about the struggles of the people in the current war and be oppressed, disrupted and intimidated by European police.
As a Russian activist, I want to warn Austrian society. Don’t police and the state get away with this now. Because if they get away with this now, repressions will get bigger and uglier and more violent. This repressions that happened in freshman hov we used to experience in Russia 10 years ago and right now people are in prison for making anti-war posts anti-fascist tweets and they are dying in prison and spending their years for just speaking their their minds. Don’t let the same thing happen here. We have to push back. And I think what happened at Peršmanhof is a historical event. And while I was there I was talking to the police. I was talking to officials who were there and I said to them, you are actively participating in a crime against people, against civil society, against anti-fascists and you will not be able to erase it from the history of your families. Your faces, your names will be forever in history as a people who actively participated in this crime, in this violation. and their children, their relatives, their grandchildren, will know that they participated actively in this and history won’t forget this and Peršmanhof-Museum will definitely had a part of exhibition about this contemporary crime. We need to stay together. We need to push back. We need to be strong and we need to show the government that they are not going to get away with this. We need to show the police that they are not going to get away with this. And we need to do this together now before this is too late. Thank you.“
