Ich hab’ mein Ladekabel vergessen! Wie komm’ ich jetzt ins Netz? Was ist jetzt das Passwort für’s WLAN? Grasberg, Langwies, Wien | AT · 2001–2022 (© PP · # 3097 · www.ewigesarchiv.at) Vor dem Wegfahren noch schnell ein Blick in die Umhängtasche: Ladekabel mit? Netzkabel? Handy? Weil ohne dem geht nichts, gar nichts! Maximal noch Nasenbohren oder Taschenbillard spielen – aber sonst: Tote Hose. In einem Film über Datensicherheit, den ich vor einiger Zeit gesehen habe, weigerte sich einer der Interviewten, ein Datensicherheits-Experte, sich erkennbar filmen zu lassen, bestand darauf, dass seine Stimme verzerrt wird und erklärte, dass er natürlich kein Smartphone verwenden würde, dass er nicht daran denke – nicht einmal im schlimmsten Alptraum – sich auf sogenannten „Social Networks“ wie Facebook, Instagramm, Twitter (gab’s damals noch – jetzt Elon Musks „X“) zu verkaufen, sich bloßzustellen, sich komplett nachverfolgbar an den Pranger zu stellen, versteht sich wohl von selbst.

Das große Foto rechts zeigt die Künstlerin Maria Treml bei der Arbeit an ihrem riesigen textilen Netzwerk. Maria Treml hat am Grasberg bei Altmünster in Oberösterreich eine textile Installation in gewaltiger Dimension für die Überspannung des Hauptplatzes der oö. Bezirksstadt Grieskirchen konzipiert und gemeinsam mit einigen Mitarbeiter*innen – ua. Elisa Treml, Markus Treml und Donna Price – geflochten und produziert. Entstanden ist ein beeindruckendes, dichtes Gewebe: Länge mehr als 150 Meter, Gesamtfläche ca 1.600 m2, rund 35.000 Meter eigens gefertigtes Band wurden verarbeitet. Die Installation wurde erstmals 2010 für die oö. Landesausstellung gefertigt – da sie auf großen Zuspruch seitens der Bevölkerung gestoßen ist, wurde sie in adaptierter Form in etwa zweimonatiger Arbeit neu produziert.

Das Telefon ohne Wählscheibe habe ich in der Galerie 3 von Lena Freimüller gesehen und fotografiert.

Die Veröffentlichung von Autokennzeichen erfolgt ausschließlich in künstlerisch dokumentarischem Zusammenhang und impliziert keinerlei weitere Konnotationen.

Because nothing works without it, nothing at all! At most you can still pick your nose or play pocket billiards – but otherwise: dead in the water. In a film about data security that I saw some time ago, one of the interviewees, a data security expert, refused to be filmed in a recognizable way, insisted that his voice be distorted and explained that of course he wouldn’t use a smartphone, It goes without saying that he would not consider – not even in his worst nightmare – selling himself on so-called “social networks” such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (they still existed back then – now Elon Musk’s “X”), exposing himself, putting himself in the pillory in a completely traceable way.

The large photo on the right shows artist Maria Treml at work on her huge textile network. At Grasberg near Altmünster in Upper Austria, Maria Treml designed a textile installation of enormous dimensions to span the main square of the Upper Austrian district town of Grieskirchen and wove and produced it together with several collaborators, including Elisa Treml, Markus Treml and Donna Price. The result is an impressive, dense fabric: more than 150 meters long, total area approx. 1,600 m2, around 35,000 meters of specially manufactured ribbon were used. The installation was first produced in 2010 for the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition – as it was very well received by the public, it was re-produced in an adapted form in around two months’ work.
